After months of trouble free CarPlaying, I've got a problem that CP does not start when I connect my phone. The CP splash screen shows on my phone, the CP icon appears on the lower menu bar (but is not responsive when pressed) and CP doesn't start. I've checked (and toggled) the autostart option in Settlings, but seems like the ICTP unit needs a reboot.
The car has been parked and locked from Tuesday until today, so it should have plenty of time to "sleep". Any suggestions on how to get things running again? I thought I was don't with ICTP / CP issues...

Ironically, after I had a random full reboot issue that left me with non-functioning system for 20 mins CP has been working faultlessly ever since...
I will enjoy until the next inevitable glitch - blood y computers 😀

The system never really shuts down fully most of it's functions are off but it is monitoring input such as on off button etc, it is also still communicating with the telematics system. The only way to do a full system reset is to disconnect the battery wait for about a couple of minutes then reconnect that has been known to clear many niggling problems with all of the cars systems.

So I was at my local dealership to book my car in for a service and had asked about ACP & AA. If I want to add/download those onto my car it's £100 + VAT.

My question is, is it worth it?

I personally don't think so, the quality of graphics isn't that great I haven't found the maps or traffic to be any better than the two I use (sygic and Apple Maps). I also have the dash display so I can get the map on that so that's another nail in the head of ACP. As far as audio playing goes I can't see much between them they both have the same annoyances, such as when I select an album from an artist they play that one album and stop my XF used to play the next available track and continue on from there useful if the music is there for background.
I didn't pay for the update as all hardware was in place and it came with 18D, I believe that the usb interface on some cars need changing to add ACP/AA but not sure why as the interface is the same for incontrol apps.
The other negative is it needs the cable connected to the phone and I can never be bothered to connect it unless the phone needs charging and then my High speed charger charges a lot better.

Just to close the loop on this, CP started working again. Not sure what changed on what side, but the card another week in the LHR carpark and my phone was power cycled (again). Maybe CP was just "resting" and then decided to behave again....

I've written on this forum before about the benefits and limitations of ACP. It's fine. I wouldn't pay for it. Best benefit was stability for me and traffic accuracy from Google Maps / Waze. If you have 18C / D then you're likely to have a stable ICTP so won't get much better functionality from ACP. Depends how much you value accurate traffic info

How do I add apps from my phone to the car ?? Say Spotify, there was a screen on my phone I dragged Spotify down but can't remember how to get that screen back ,
So how do I get Spotify app from my phone back to Apple CarPlay screen ?
Any help would be appreciated

Try on your iPhone under Settings->General-> Car Play -> Your car then you should see the options you are looking for.

I'm interested in iOS 13 CarPlay HUD integration. but so far the iOS 13 Beta is a nice update. The dashboard style view is handy.

Just to advise that Jaguars will more than likely have the same issue as they share the same software.

Voice cannot be heard during a received telephone call

Issue:
Apple devices with iOS version 12.2 and 12.3 may experience any of the following concerns when connected to the infotainment system via USB cable and CarPlay mode active:

1. When a call is received the driver cannot hear the caller although the caller can hear the driver. If the cable is disconnected or the speaker button on the phone is pressed during the call then the driver may then hear the caller as normal.

2. Possible satellite navigation map display concerns with USB cable connected.

Cause:
Apple software related concern

Action:
The concern appears to have occurred since the release of iOS 12.2 & 12.3, please contact Apple support or visit an Apple Store for further advice.

Note:
Please do not replace the infotainment master controller or related components for the above concern unless otherwise directed by Land Rover

I believe this issue is fixed in the pending release of iOS 13 (which a formal release date should be provided next week at the Apple iPhone Event).

To me it seems thar IOS 12.4.1 fixed the problem.
Some other reported that the OTA update from S19A_19.11.4-330884 to S19A_19.24.2-375121 solved too.

I actually used ACP in anger last night, I'm on 19A so ICTP is pretty good anyway. It didn't find it's way around the M2 closure until at least 10 mins into the diversion it was not easy to get started in the first place as well as not having the map on screen in from of me I found it pretty useless. Whenever I use the phone in a rental car I take a holder and place it easily in my field of vision which makes it a lot more usable but on the main screen it's pretty poor.
ACP also requires the phone to be unlocked to start it and finding somewhere to put the phone is not easy when you use the drinks holder for drinks. In the little cubby hole in front one the gear change an iPhone 7 plus just barely fits with a cable plugged in but signal strength goes down massively when placed there.
All in all it was a good experiment but not something I can see much use for as for Traffic updates if you have a sim the car gets the same updates ass google etc and just as quick, as I've said in the past ICTP shows my local traffic quicker than google sometimes in fact it was google that sent me up the M2 from Dover as the M20 had major roadworks it just didn't notice the road closure until after I was in it.
I will use ACP on rental cars where it is available it's great for that saves paying to rent a sat nav but definitely not on the Jag.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the contents of the "tiles" in ACP on iOS13. I'm referring to the new view that allows map and "now playing" info to be displayed on a single screen. Specifically I'd like to add Google Maps (instead of Apple Maps) and maybe display WhatsApp or whatever.
I can't see anything in release info, but smarter minds than me may have worked it out...

Researching my own question, looks like the dashboard view in ACP on iOS13 is fixed and Apple Maps is the default/only mapping app allowed. Siri (in iOS13) now supports "hey siri, give me directions to Birmingham on google maps", which is good...
