^ and you still have a butt ugly car that doesn't behave like a sports car.
Agree, the only thing thats good about it from my previous Audi is they drive well, handle well and the in car tech works. ;)

I think they've lost it a bit with their styling in the same way BMW did during the Chris Bangle years. I almost waited for the new SQ5. Having seen th new Q5 in the metal now I'm glad I didn't. It's very ordinary.

I drove the current SQ5. Stunning engine. Better than the 3.0d in the FP. But completely lifeless steering. As I think I said before an engine alone does not make a great car.

I went to see a client yesterday who has a Macan, white with red leather, he paid ÂŁ62k for it. I happened to have Harwoods demo FP this week in white and red, so when I arrived they were side by side. He asked the price and how long the lead time was as he thought it was better looking than his Macan, and that it was really too small for him with his grandchildren, and he loved the FP as an option that wasn't there 2 years ago.

Looks is the biggest failing of the SQ7, yet to drive one but from those that have they say it's impressive and has huge levels of grip for an SUV. Though like the TTRS it's the engine which is the real star of the show, one said its throttle response is almost instant... very non turbo like never mind diesel like.

As for the spec, I've heard the basic sound system.and it's surprisingly good, yes you could pay the extra for the Bose but frankly I'd save the money, the only other kit I'd get is memory seat+mirrors, heated rear seats and possibly the bigger rims but might stop short of 22".

Just specced it how I'd like mine and even with 22s it ended up just below ÂŁ75k, still a hell of a money but still a hell of a motor.

But that would be now where near what you currently drive, so why spec up your car.

I was trying to do like for like. :D

You could go basic but having owned a Audi i know their basic package is very very basic, they are well known for having everything as an extra costs.

I keep hearing the Macan is ugly .... is it only me that thinks the rear end of an F Pace is like a Muffin Top?

I imagine that when Porsche get a hold of the new Q5 and breathe some life into it the next gen Macan will be very good.

When I park My Blue Black Jag in the parking lot next to the Macan, people notice and stare at the Jag!! It looks stylish, muscular, mean and sleek. I don't think anyone would say the round Macan, or new Mercedes SUV compares to the looks of the Jag. But, what I love is the interior roominess for my 2 tall, 6" kids and myself. This is the most important feature of an SUV. You can breath in it and feel comfortable all the while tearing around the corners. The handling is better but the transition to a smooth elevated ride is the best for vision as well as comfort. I own a 500HP sportscar as well, but the speed is enough! I'll take the looks and the handling and roominess any day! You really can't compare if size matters!

I agree, in profile and 3/4 view the FPace looks very good but rear on it looks very strange. As if its over narrow, too high.
I think the people looking are as much down to it still being relatively new.

On my Glacier White car, as I walk up to the front and see that gaaaaping wide bumper-to-bonnet gap my heart sinks.
Less noticeable with a darker colour I suppose.

The Macan is a smaller car lengthwise but if you don't need the extra room can work in your favour, in urban use. Horses for courses.

They aren't really 6" are they ;)

Gaping bumper gap? Get it adjusted it took my bodyshop all of 10 minutes.

As for looks the F-Pace is spectacular especially from the rear.

They tell me they are ..... its only taken 4 weeks and I'm still waiting.
maybe slowed down by the ICTP problems..... oh and the Telematics.

I feel sorry for Ian Callum and Mike Cross (look them up) for designing the looks and handling of a dynamically excellent car and then the production engineers turning it into a fragile shadow of what it should have been at launch.

It is for me one of the best cars I have ever purchased.

As for Callum, I spoke with him at the press launch in Geneve, he was literally over the moon with delight.

Fantastic product bringing Jaguar great success and abundant praise from the motoring press. Look it up!

Yes, I saw all the fawning press reports and even though the press cars were In Control and not ICTP they still commented on the dodgy interior quality and clunky Infotainment system.

I waited for nearly 10 months for delivery, deposit taken Oct 2015.
Imagine the shock to realise it wasn't finished.

When you speak next to Ian tell him from me, he and his brother are both great designers.
Can you mention to Mike Cross too that he's worked wonders with the handling of the car.

Oh, and tell the Jaguar IT department to up their game and to tell their managers if its not yet ready for delivery to the customer.

The production engineers ruined this car.

I received my car (wife's car) mid April 2016, after placing my order 8 weeks prior.

It initially had some ICT wobbles which were resolved in late May, apart from the skipping / eject issues with the CD. No big deal as I normally use my iphone . However that too now works perfectly after a cable swap and software update, two weeks ago.

So for me, I am one happy bunny and I enjoy driving the F-Pace whenever I can despite having a F-Type R coupe..

Do you have ICT or ICTP?
yes, I remember your wobbles.

I wish id gone for ICT
id be happy too then, i think.

did Ian get you anything off your F-Type? or did you go for your normal dealers discount?
