I'm intending towing a caravan, so would like to get the best installation with the features enabled.

A couple of towbar companies said they use genuine Jaguar wiring kit/loom. Which on top of wanting that, I would imagine is needed to ensure my warranty is still valid.

I'm going to swing by in person to one of the Jaguar/land rover independent garages and talk again and see if I can get any clearer. Useful to know about the pathfinder point you mention, so will bring that up as well

Thanks everyone for your info and replies... Glad I don't feel on my own with the confusion!

I think on balance I'm going to have to succumb to paying the premium of going to JLR dealer to ensure I get the features and also warranty. I can't take the risk of getting it done by an in dependant and then have issues with JLR post install Incl programming etc...

I rang around a few JLR dealers and so far there is c. £5-700 difference amongst themselves for an electronic towbar!

Well, finally getting the towbar fitted today at my dealer. See wht it's like! Also having the recall done on the alternator/tension belt.

Well all fitted and works fine. Very fancy.. And lazy... Just pressing the button and it appears! Also completely hidden when stowed. Had a quick demo by the technician.

When asking about the tow assist part, and the triangle sticker etc... He said oh that isn't part of this set up and only seen it on a manual one. Thought it was a bit strange but he was going to look into it.

Had a phone call about 30 mins later on the way home and said based on my VIN it isn't possible to have it. Very strange?! As have SE dynamic spec with 360 cameras etc...

Think I might get a second option by going to jag customer services direct. Anyone got any info/insight to help with this or have experienced...?
