Just looking through this thread and a thought crossed my mind (yes beginners luck - before someone adds this :) ) One statement "it bounces 4-6 times" and another "it seems worse when cold" could this actually be a faulty damper unit? Dampers work by throttling oil or gas through a small orifice to manage the speed of movement of the outside tube of the damper (in simple terms). Adaptive dampers have a way of either varying this orifice size or magnetically altering the viscosity of the oil. If that functionality fails/sticks/isn't consistent then we'd get this sort of behaviour. If you ever drove a car with completely failed dampers its horrible (not to mention dangerous!).

I'm not saying that our cars are dangerous, but a batch of faulty damper units could explain this completely, and given they will be a unique design to the F-Pace early models would be more likely to have this. My car is a first half June 16 build, if all of your cars are similar age we could be on to something.

or not ;)

thoughts?

^ yes thinking back I've had it happen both warm and cold and in both normal and dynamic mode (although it's less pronounced in dynamic)

I'm making the dealership aware I am "not alone" in this ... would appreciate a PM if you've raised this with your dealer so I can reference that in my discussions. I'm still waiting for a date for the technician to visit me at home where I am able to reliably demonstrate the problem.

Its an interesting idea but mine happened when warm. Someone mentioned the Dynamic mode and last night I certainly noticed it with Dynamic switched on. Also have 22 inch wheels so maybe the 2 create this problem?
I borrowed a Portfolio on 22inch wheels and Adaptive but my wife and I agreed the ride was better than mine on 19inch. Glad to know as I quipped with the dealer that a wheel upgrade wasn't going to be a cheap fix!

I get this effect, but rarely, and sadly for me the one place it is at its worst is two manhole covers that are raised in my road. Going out no problem at all, coming home, wobble. Other than that I do not suffer it that I am aware of, so really annoying

^ let's swap home!

This may well turn out to be a 'characteristic' of the car .. in which case I bought the wrong car. As I said in a previous post if I lived in a non-urban area I'd probably never experience it.

I'm actually prepared to agree with that, once I have excluded any possible mechanical fault then fine, I'll live with it. Every car I've had as some sort of quirk, if this one is a "wobble/bounce/vagueness" fine that's fine I can cope. Just eliminate the possibility of fault (that could become dangerous) first and I'll get over it!

What I'm thinking is its not a fault but a issue with the maths and calculations that run the suspension. If perhaps we can highlight this as a potential issue in terms of it not performing as they had ideally intended then it can be updated and adjusted in the future.

If nobody knows about it from Jag nothing will happen. If after enough people complain and they see it and say thats absolutely how it should be then fine we have a car that perhaps isn't ideal and we can live with it or sell it.
I just want to determine what the status really is and should be.

Actually good point, has anyone without adaptive suspension got this "wobble" feeling .. in their car please :)!

It at least eliminates many cars if this is the case!

No one? Oh well phoned the dealer to say that after all the work they have done, my car is still not riding particularly well, I can cope with windscreen washer issues (they will get fixed but they need new washer jets that point the right way!!!!) and funnily enough the ICTPro issues, but not this really uncomfortable ride! Four up over the weekend with luggage and it still manages to throw passengers left/right, its very strange, most cars behave better when loaded!

^ Hi Rav

I found a few road tests and reviews now that mention this .. coupled with similar complaints on the US forum and the 8 or 9 of us on here makes me think it's a 'characteristic' of the car. Now that I am aware of it, I try to 'drive around' it, mainly by anticipating the type of surface likely to throw it off and either avoiding it (as the case with speed humps in roads near where I live) or using dynamic mode (which reduces the problem) .. occasionally (as happened this weekend) you'll find a road surface that looks smooth but really sets the wobble off. What is very strange is that I can travel the same stretch of road and 9/10 it happens, but then on the odd occasion it doesn't. Which makes me think it's software/adaptive suspension related.

In any case I've decided to live with it. If I look at the 2700 miles I have covered I reckon 2650 of them have been awe inspiring and 50 down right dreadful. I can live with the 2% to have the 98%.

given I cant pin it down to happening in a certain scenario, I'm putting it down to a 'characteristic' of the car too.. if it really annoys me I'll bring it up with the dealer again but comfortable they did a thorough inspection when it was in for its 2.5 upgrade.

was there on Sunday for the Wimbledon Winter Wonderland! I do need an excuse to visit my favourite Italian (la Nonna) again though!

Well Tuesday morning the dealers "main man" from service and I are going to try to do a back to back two cars same road.. I will accept it as a characteristic, I just want to be sure that is nothing else first! I'll let you guys know the outcome!

interested in the outcome, if any of the service folk at your dealers have a view I'd be interested to know the outcome!

And you didn't come and say hi? Is la Nonna good then? I went on opening night but it was so chaotic we didn't stay.

not been in a few years since I moved away but its been great everytime I went before then. With two young kids in a packed town centre, I just wanted to get the hell out of there!
