Hey again, I have two F-Pace S 3.0 V6 sc both from 2016 The red one bought in january didn't have any battery issues or warnings at all. The green one bought in may gave me the 'Low battery - please start engine' warning since day one and it usually went away after driving it for a few days, but would come up again after not driving the car for a few days.
So the red one without issues has a Varta battery which is 80Ah 800something, and looks newer probably aftermarket (not sure if any jags come with Varta from factory)
This jag was owned by a german lady and then registered to a company either by the same or she sold to someone who drove it as a company car. It was not cared for correctly, had coolant pipes broken, and when changing oil and filter last week, oil was very dark and filter almost black (as shown in my last post). The car sat at the dealership for at least 5 months until I bought it. Seen it first in August, bought it in December and there was ice and snow all over it when I video called them. So the battery should have also drained
The green one which has the battery issues still has what I think is the original factory battery because it says Jaguar on it and it's 90Ah 850something capacity, looks old
This jag was owned by an executive of a Jaguar dealership in Austria. All services are done at their dealership and on schedule as you'd imagine, even air filters and pollen filter is noted in the online service book, which weren't done on the red one as they're not listed. So this was taken care of. That's why I think the battery was never changed, but because the car sat at the dealership until I bought it for at least 3 months, the battery drained since it was original
Now I did what was the easiest method to check the issue, yesterday I swaped the batteries around instead of buying a new one, because I wanted to check if it's really a bad battery or another issue
To my surprise and maybe yours, the red f-pace didn't give a low battery warning with the Jaguar battery from the green one
The green f-pace gave a low battery warning with the Varta battery from the red one this morning when my wife left with it
This means it's not a battery fault, but I don't get anything on the tester that would direct me to the culprit.
I will try to update the software as someone in another thread with the same issue claimed the jaguar dealer updated the software and solved the issue. If anyone can link me a video or tutorial on how to update. Do I have to create a hotstop to connect to the internet? Is it over the air and doesn't need internet?
I also don't know what's the difference between ictp ictp pro or whatever the infotainments are called but I can tell you that:
The red f-pace has the SOS and Remote connectivity button on the roofliner, plus hdmi and usb and the other plugs in the armrest
The green f-pace doesn't have Remote, Sos, just 2 usb plugs in the armrest so I'm guessing it doesn't have ictp? this is the one that needs updating for the battery issue
