Setting Master PIN

Going through the various menus in the car, reference is made to setting up a master PIN. In order to do this, it tells you to first enter the preset PIN as given in the manual.
I can't find any reference to a master PIN in the manual - can anyone help?

I'm pretty sure the master PIN is used in the remote apps. Makes sure you are communicating with the right car and are authorized to start, lock, etc.
