All

I'm keen to sort out my annual insurance today with Privilage and Churchill coming in with the best quotes through Confused.com at around £335 and £340 respectively for me and my wife.

Anyone used one of these before or recommend one over the other?

Jag insurance quoting £780 LOL

Thanks!

I went with Privilege for my F Pace.

Customer service has been good so far, but can't comment on claim process etc.

I also went with Churchill - competitive and very easy to set up but haven't had to use them to know whether they are a good insurer or not (and hope not too!).

I cannot speak highly enough of Direct Line and their customer service.
They have put my cover on hold whilst I am driving Jaguars loan F Pace and will reinstate my cover when my replacement F Pace arrives and arrange a refund for the time not used. Can't get better than that!

Try Direct Line......
Just checked Direct Line and it's £310 :D

Didn't come up through Confused.

Cheers
Never use direct line .... bunch of w*******s

When my mini was stolen I was investigated over fraud ... even though it was my first major claim since I was 18! (Was 30 then) Then then offered me £8000 .... where it was worth near £15,000!!!!!

After two weeks of debating the cost their final offer was £9000 the police found my mini and gave it back to me ... I asked for an apology regarding the accusation of fraud ... I got a snotty letter saying they had the right to investigate under their terms of agreement and no apology would be given. Switched insurance when the renewal came.

Anyway I went privilege after doing a lot of research on the F-Pace

Privilage.... same people as Direct Line check the link

http://www.directlinegroup.co.uk/our-brands/brands.aspx

You ring a number goes to a screen in front of the operator and lights up with the name of the company you are calling and they answer with a script on the screen then run through the pages of the quote that come up on screen. In essence just a different name but same people probably same mission statement same operating procedures etc just slight tweaks to pricing and contracts.

Agree that one bad experience can put one off an insurer completely so fingers crossed it works out well with DLG for me.
Checked out some shocking reviews on Privilage and Churchill and both rated 1.5 out if 5 on one review site and 20 out of 40 providers whereas DLG is currently 5th.
Then again, if they are all essentially the same company, any claim I make lies with the gods me thinks  !

Well Direct Line were much cheaper than the previous quotes i'd got.

I am 44, with a full clean driving license and 14 years of no claims discount. The cheapest quote I got up until today was £365 from Privilege (I had never heard of them), Churchill were next best at £375, but Direct Line came in at £210 ! Amazing that all three are brands of the same company, and still there is a huge difference.

In my opinion, all insurers are good until you need them, and i'd say they have a very difficult job these days sorting out legitimate claims from fraudulent ones.

I believe you ... looks like I'll be looking for a new company next year.

Privilege for me, and good experience when I had to make a claim for my car being stolen many years back.

I wouldn't have minded the fraud investigation if afterwards when I asked for an apology they had said :
"Sorry sir for any inconvenience and if we questioned your integrity regarding your claim, however we are intitled under our terms and we do investigate under certain conditions"
Or something like that. ... but all I got was "dear sir, we will not be giving an apology as it clearly states under our t&c that we have the right to do so"

Make sure you go through Quidco with some the companies mentioned here (if you have an account or simply create one). You can get anything between £10 and £70 cash back on new polices. I swap every year religiously to ensure I keep getting the new policy money off. Usually Hastings Direct, Aviva or Privilege are amongst ones used in the past few years.
Also - works well with house insurance and utilities!!! Saved a fortune of the years doing this.

Interesting to see this topic I've been looking at my insurance currently too

People have been mentioning Privilege, Churchill, Direct Line, they are all part of Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

found an interesting article too talking about the comparison sites and who owns them.
