Does anyone know if the standard ICT system will have an update for Apple CarPlay? Car is in for a service in a couple of weeks so would be good to know to ask them to update if it's available. Cheers

Sorry Jason, I don't think so.

That's a shame, it's very clunky the standard system so was hoping car play was coming!

I have the ICT system just been updated to 4.0 but my vehicle does not have the apps or a SIM slot. I just received this from my service dealer, so according to him my Simless system will be upgraded to Apple CarPlay.

"A new Smartphone Pack is soon to be available which will provide access to Apple CarPlay and Androidauto, It will also include a software update for InControl.

I will let you know as soon as it is released and we'll have you round for the upgrade".

Fingers crossed it comes out on the basic system, mines in for a service next week so will see what they say. Can't believe it's 2 years old!

I thought the ICTP could do it's upgrades without a visit to the dealer over wifi. Mine connects to my home Wifi as soon as I am outside my house and I saw a menu option somewhere for updates.

Following this with great interest as I want to use Spotify and the incontrol is so rubbish I can't bring myself to use it. Having carplay means I could jump between the normal Jag screens and Spotify so much easier and more smoothly.

Must be that one chap on the Discovery 5 forum ...only working one I've seen so far.👇
"
The retroactive update appears to already be rolling out to select Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in the United Kingdom.

So you have the standard ICT not the Pro? I was told it wouldn't be available for the ICT Standard.
Did you get that info from Jaguar?

Just asked the dealer , it's not out for release to everyone, when it is it will be chargeable item!

Only some in house deployments at the moment for testing.

Very interesting. Is this on the Jaguar website somewhere?

The good thing about apple car play is that it isn't really an app. It's just a repeater of your phone. It's the iPhone's responsibility to start and run apps, all the ICTP brings to the party is a touch screen and speakers. I've used car play before and it's great - can't wait to get it on the Jaguar.

I notice in the last pictures they have also moved the Speed and Rev counter dials to the sides with the info section to the middle on the dashboard. Making it the same as the Velar, another move forward as opposed to moving them around when Dynamic is selected, etc. Changing the colours is fine but swapping the dials over is just a distraction.

I wonder if this will be backwards compatible with older vehicles, I.e. my MY17 one :D

Stupid question but how do you determine the MY? Mine is 18 registration, picked up new in March this year. Does that make it an 18MY?
