Aftermarket side steps

Post by Twojags1 » Fri Nov 16, 2018 3:08 pm

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and apologise in advance if my question has already been covered somewhere ( I'm sure it would have been ) ☺
My question is,
I have just purchased a used fpace rsport on a 66reg.
I have been looking on eBay for aftermarket steps but each seller I've contacted regards suitability they all say they won't fit the rsport model
Why ? I assume the chassis is the same and only trim is what distinguishes the model prestige? Portfolio , rsport etc ?
Could some one please enlighten me on this and if there is a diffrence does any one who has after market side steps on a rsport let me know where they purchased and any info regards fitting woukd be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Are you looking at fixed or deployable side steps? The F-Pace Accessories booklet doesn't indicate any restrictions on which models you can or can't fit either of them to. Have you tried using the Jaguar online configurator to see if they will allow you to specify them for an R Sport?

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the reply.
It was the fixed steps I was enquiring about.
Not a bad idea to check on configurator though I guess BUT maybe if there is a diffrence perhaps the configurator would automatically adjust ?
Hopefully some one on here may be able to confirm my query.

I saw one with side steps when I was specifying mine last Christmas and it is pictured here. I wasn't convinced they added much so didn't bother. The F Pace isn't really high enough for them to be necessary and I suspect once they get muddy or dirty you will be forever cleaning the backs of your trousers....

Tried the deplorable steps in the showroom checked them every which way and didn't bother, unless you have a very petite lady driver or passenger they make getting in and our harder.

We have the fixed side-steps fitted to our F-Pace and find them very useful for getting in and out, especially in tight car parks.
