I was told by dealer whenever you have any sort of software update your driving style/history is deleted & the car has to learn how you drive it again. Your range will probably come down in due course.
Let's hope not

As soon as they connect Pathfinder to the car and do a clear DTC codes which will occur after a software update, if they used pathfinder, all data is reset back to default this includes your dash info display and driver assistance preferences. When mine goes in for the service in two weeks I am going to ask them to update the ICTP and enable SOTA so I can do it easily myself.
Doing the ICTP update with pathfinder is time consuming the kit has to be connected to the car then it has to determine what update you need, then it downloads this to a USB stick, then you have to put the stick into one of the USB slots the car will then do the update then pathfinder has to verify the update and after all this it sometimes fails as well, like mine did that's an hour and a half wasted. No wonder some dealers insist on charging.

I had 18D in my Velar. I phoned the dealer and asked them to turn on SOTA which can be done remotely. A while later (about a week or so) the car asked if I wanted to download the new software, use of car still possible during the download. Some while later was asked if I wanted the update installed, car can not be used while being updated. After returning to the car a couple of hours later after agreeing to the update there was a message to say it was successful and on checking 19A.... version now installed. Yesterday I received this in my email, a bit late but better late than never :D

So SOTA is arriving or will be shortly at a car near you :o

Logging into Topix I can now see H232 as an outstanding campaign for my F-Pace MY'17. I'm on 18C of InTouch Control Pro and keen to get Carplay/Auto so do I get this enabled (how?) and wait for the update or, go into the dealer and get it updated manually?

Just checked my car, currently S18D_18.47.5-269316 but does have a check for update, however when check is performed no update is found both through sim card and connected to home WIFI.

Looked on Topix and only campaign is H152 - DEF dosing malfunction.

Has anyone managed to get an update over the air, if so what versions was on the car before the update.

I am interested to know if I have to persuade the dealer to upgrade at the next service but that will not be until the new year.

You need to go to your dealer and get it enabled., I went yesterday the bulletin said 20mins but I was in there over 45mins. I checked before I left the dealer and it showed there was an update, I was getting the no update message before.

As I wanted to use my WiFi I waited till I was home and connected to my network.

I started the download which said it was 91mB I assume that is the downloader and after fifteen minutes I got fed up switched off and went indoors, I checked some 20mins later it was still downloading an hour later I checked again this time it said installing so I turned off again and went in. I checked twice over the next hour and it was still installing and hour later when I checked it said to complete it needed a vehicle shutdown so I turned off and went in again. 30 mins later I checked I was now on 19A but the message telling me that to complete it needed a vehicle shutdown was still there.
This morning I checked it the message had gone and when I checked for update none were available.

Hi Reggraham,
Can you confirm the full number of your latest update please. (i supposedly have sota activated on my car, even though topix shows it as an outstanding job). I have checked for updates and it shows "non available". As you have now got the latest version i could check yours against mine to see if its correct.
Thanks

This sounds great if it all works i.e. I'd hate to come back to a bricked infotainment system!

Just thinking... in my case (being on version 18C) if I get SOTA enabled and the update works, what are the chances that Apple Carplay / Android Auto would be enabled as part of the update i.e. would I still need to go to the dealer anyway to get this enabled?
