Looking at the issue you have I would suspect the connection /gasket between the turbo downwards to the DOC/ DPF . In this area the gas is sucked directly into the air intake for the cabin.
Moving makes this blow past , when static it builds up under the bonnet.

Several cases of this sane gasket connection issue in the DS .

They should see some black exhaust grime round the turbo exit seal.

Worth getting that checked.

Many thanks the garage staff have been great and it’s off to be sorted. I have bought a carbon monoxide alarm / tester for the car now.
