This is just pads, not discs, not sensors.
Dealer quoted £357 to replace rear brake pads.
When challenged they reduced to £302.
Using Jaguar online service booking system they quote £247.
Using the same system the cheapest locally is £232.
Am I missing something with the discrepancy.
On my old XF it was £135!
Once they have it on the ramp best to change both axles, around 2 hours work or less plus pads, about £250 inc VAT at a local garage. Pads themselves for an FPace aren't cheap.
"My" dealer agreed to match cheapest relatively local Jag main dealer quote of £232, saving £125 on original quote. Sounds v reasonable based on what Deltasierra says. Thanks for the info.
This is robbery with violence. Mintex pads ( branded for JLR). for the F Pace are £39.79 ( E bay) for the axle set and fitting time is 30 - 45 minutes .
Fitting of pads is not rocket science so Halfords or a Kwik fit fitter are fine.
The only difference with cheap aftermarket discs is they are probably BETTER quality than OEM discs, there have been a lot of replacements due to corrosion.
Pads are not under warranty and you would have to be a real idiot to break the sensors, any decent aftermarket brake specialist will have no issues replacing pads on the Fpace as its not exactly the hardest of cars to replace discs and pads.
If you want peace of mind then your have to pay Jaguar prices and as you now that's expensive.
