Can others see the pictures? They are just imgur files.

Size choice was based on availability. Moving to 275 opens up a far wider range of options - so saved £500 going for the Vred’s.

265 to 275 is pretty marginal in terms of size change. Doubt there is any noticeable difference in grip. May be a smidge worse in deep snow.

Fair enough, makes sense. I simply bought new wheels. Got 4 nice 20" black Wolfrace assassin wheels shod in Conti WinterContact TS 850ps (255s)for £1,700. Costs me £20 to get all 4 changed. Did it last weekend and with temperatures below zero this morning, was very much appreciated!

Incidentally, are the 22' wheels 9.5"" or 10" wide?

Mik - I've just checked, and the wheels are 9". Looking at the guide on pneus, the maximum tyre width you should have on that sized wheel is 265. So unless I've misunderstood something, I'm not sure you should be putting a 275 tyre on that wheel?

It is a 22x9” wheel indeed.

A 275/40 is the maximum width tyre that you can safely run on this rim width. See earlier in the thread for evidence. Not sure where you are looking in the Pneus website?

Edit - I see it here. That is a very simplistic guide and doesn’t make much sense as it doesn’t take into account the sidewall height. A 275/40 tyre for example will work over a wider range of rim widths than a 275/30....

Out of interest - this is the first time I have seen a wheel fitment range actually marked on a tyre. Not exactly a conventional tyre right enough, but a 38” (outer diameter) x 15.5” wide on a 15” wheel.

The tyre states that it is suitable for fitment on a rim widths between 12” and 14”.
