F-Pace SVR coming soon?

I know there have been a couple of mentions on here - can't find any confirmation though - about the possibility of a mythical F-Pace.

I have very recently been informed by a reliable source* - and I've seen it being tested - that the F-Pace SVR will arrive later this year.

5.0 supercharged V8, as in the F-Type. almost 600hp, with uprated everything.

Rumoured to be sensibly priced (if something like this can be sensible) at about £60k for the base model.

Local dealer would neither confirm nor deny, but did say say Jaguar are planning to go further down the performance route with all cars, as the new XE would signify.

I know there are a couple of vids doing the rounds from the Nurburgring etc. so it seems to back up the info.

Comments or other news anyone?

*Not a bloke down the pub ;)

Seems to depend on the dealer...
I have a local one who have assured me my car will be here this year, and another dealer that I spoke to said Feb/March 2019.
One is an 'r-performance' specialist and the other isn't. They said that's why they get it quicker.

Is it really normal for a car from a major manufacturer to start deliveries nearly (or actually) a whole year after its launch?? Don't think I've ever seen that from the German manufacturers! To me this has the whiff of some sort of error or poor planning on JLR's part. I nothing else, the tech in the that car will actually start to be outdated if they don't get a move on!! Rather a poor show IMO.

You have to assume that Lister are not using the SVR as the base for their mods, as otherwise they'd have no chance of selling any in October.

Still not a squeak from Jaguar...
A chap over on USA forum has been told by his dealer that. they are open for orders in November for Fpace SVR and he's top of the list .
No idea if true though.
Wonder if he's factored in the import duty?

Maybe there's a shortage of V8's? Prioritising other models?

The Velar SVR may be launched in Oct/Nov, but as for getting one then...... Perhaps they should've double checked October in what year..

As for the F Pace, I have a very good source that says the first cars are due Q1 2019. Any dealer, either side of the pond that says they will get you a car for Christmas if you give them some wonga is talking through the base of the seat.

They're not asking for a penny now, so it's not a tactic to hand over some cash.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see one way or another whether it's a 3 month wait or a 6 month wait. Either way, I'm not in any particular hurry... although I'd rather it was the sooner date!!

If they are going to genuinely put you on a list and reserve you one of their allocation for no money, then do it!

Glad to see there is an actual 'real life' one out there other than the ones that have been at the shows.
Would that be the Siena Tan and Ebony interior? Doesn't look much like the colour on the configurator, but I guess that's the only one it could be.
My dealer hoped they'd be getting a demonstrator imminently, so maybe there is hope!!

Ho hum, looks like my F-Pace search is at an end. My OH is determined to keep the current family car and I don't need a SUV as a spare car, but I do need some practicality so have gone for an AMG Merc estate to keep myself happy. May come back the the F-Pace SVR when the OH does need to change the family car, but for now the search is off...

Saw one at local dealer yesterday. Air vents on bonnet look a bit bland and cheap. No writing on them. Plain plastic. Automatic gear changer different too.
Were they actually using it as a demonstrator? Seems odd that there has been a workable car in the country for 2 weeks now, yet no magazine has been able to test it yet.

Very odd! I wish they'd hurry up and give some cars to the press so we can see what the so called experts think.

If it's sitting in the showroom all dolled up and shiny, it's unlikey it will have been driven - other than into the showroom.

Sat in the passenger seat for a quick run a couple day ago at a Jag event.

The ride quality seems similar to the S although very difficult judge on a runway, the seats i felt was harder but looked more impressive.

I was told first deliveries was January and the press will get hold of them very soon, the delay was apparently to get the I-pace rushed for release because of the new American regulations about low emission percentage of car sales.

Thanks nowmar - interesting that you have focused on the seats and ride quality. Acceleration, engine sound, and handling would have been where my attention was directed!! :D

The acceleration i felt was slightly quicker then the v6, did not fell massively quicker but it did reach 150mph much faster. The exhaust sound was awesome much deeper and much more low end rumble that the v6. on the outside it was not as loud as the f-Type SVR but still loud. Less drone noise inside the cabin as well.

The quad exhaust looks awesome at the back but all the satin grey trim is not really my cup of tea.

Thanks Nowmar, that's helpful. Agree, the lack of a black pack, or body coloured trim all over is an odd one - I wonder if that might change at some point..

Good to hear! Were they booting it round the track, or was it a fairly tame demo? Hopefully it's got a nice startup 'roar'?

My order is in (whatever that means?!) and I've gone with the Corris Grey - which looks to go pretty well with the matt grey trim. If there was a black pack, I'd pick it... but it would have to make everything black.

The dealer is optimistic that they'll have a demonstrator VERY soon. We'll see!

Ah, that makes sense... The same reason Aston Martin got Toyota IQs remodelled as Cygnets... To bring down their overall emissions production.

And as the iPace demonstrators are still languishing awaiting their production software, when we see those on actual customer test runs, perhaps we'll see the first SVR of autumn....

Hi Team,

Just stumbled across this forum/thread as keen to get a little insight into when I can expect my darn SVR to arrive!!
Like many other here, by the sounds of it, I've had my "order" in with dealer for several months (since May!) but am just trying to ascertain when I'm likely to get my keys.

I'm new to Jaguar, but have been sampling JLR's finest since 2013, albeit in various Range Rover / Sport guises. I had one of the first RRS SVRs off the production line/SVO and absolutely loved it. Bit gutted I sold it though (at least for a profit!) as they're still commanding a serious premium 3 years on! Hope the same will be said for the F-Pace variant but I don't plan to make the same mistake of selling it too soon!

I don't think anyone will have the crystal ball that'll give you a definitive answer to this question! Everyone here and all the dealers are in the same boat - in that they just don't know!
I was told mine would be here at the end of this year, and they're now guessing January / February.

The fact there are no demonstrators or press cars out there makes me think it'll still be a while away. I'm looking forward to all the magazines getting hold of one and giving us some reviews.

Here in the US I was told by a JLR contact, first dealer orders by 2nd week of December 2018, expected delivery of cars to dealership by March 1st 2019 , 500 cars are earmarked for North America. All cars to be made at one time on the production line. This is the reason to hold all orders together. UK Should have the cars before the US North American market.
