Sad News for JLR UK Workers Today

Post by Jagfpacejk » Thu Jan 10, 2019 10:32 am

Some sad news for the UK workers but not unsurprising,

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46810473

Does make me laugh when they also mention Brexit as an excuse when half the issues are there own but lets blame something that's yet to happen.

Anyway no politics here please. ;)

Ford are also cutting jobs across Europe so its not just a JLR thing:

Jaguar have a bad exposure to the Chinese market with a large proportion of sales heading there and the Chinese economy in slow down. I am sure this is affecting lots of firms and a trade war with the US doesn't help. This and a heavy reliance of diesel sales is a problem for Jaguar. People are also holding off major purchase decisions due to the uncertainty about the economy and their jobs.

That's the problem with the joint ventures foreign companies are forced to trade via. In China They leak information...
