R Sport power mirror Accident

Hi everyone

My first post and it's regarding accidental damage.

My wife had parked our 25d AWD 2.0 R Sport with the power mirrors folded in.
Someone drove along the road with their windscreen fogged up and hit the mirror pushing it back. Now the mirror won't fold/unfold. They were traveling in the same direction as the car was facing.
Is there a way to reset the position of it easily?
We're going to get it repaired at a body shop once the Insurance stuff is sorted but I'd like to be able to have a working mirror in the mean time.

2nd time in 2 weeks someone's damaged our car. At least this person left their details.

Have you tried pulling it back into position, it may well go back, you have nothing to loose as its broken anyway?

I have had a few minor dinks in car parks and one serious set of malicious deep scratches to the passenger side that needed a complete respray. Sadly, people couldn't care less about damaging cars these days I feel. You are lucky someone actually left their details!

Like mentioned try to bring the mirror back to its original position by hand if not already done.
Then maybe try using buttons to fold unfold.
Mirrors are designed to take some sort of impact as far as I know so that they don't completely break and hang by the door.
