There has been quite a bit of confusion over the dates that appear when the nav was last updated which differ from when the owner did the memory stick job.
The full map updates are around 25-27Gb so given current broadband speeds and the car's tech there's no way a full map update can be done over the air at the moment.
Obviously with the Pro you know when you did the last full update with the memory stick.
These later dates that appear are believed to be very minor updates to things like POI's which need very small amounts of data.
Given the connectivity the car has then very minor updates can be added hence the more recent dates when it says it has had an update.

I have a few questions with regards to the new map update.
How long does it take for it to install on the car?
I have downloaded the 25gb map update onto a usb but want to know if I have to keep the engine running until it has fully installed or can I periodically install the map? (I know I am able to drive the car but won't be able to use the navigation service)

You have to keep the ignition on whilst you do the install. It takes about 25 minutes. I usually start the install before I drive off on a decent run. As you say, the satnav is not available whilst installing.

Thanks from me as well, particularly to PhilB. I'm glad it's not just me who was confused!

Now to find that memory stick..........

Make sure you get a 64Gb memory stick, not a 32Gb. The usable space on the latter is not big enough for the latest European/Russian updates.

Yes, I was thinking that the 32Gb stick I've got might not have enough space,

Another consideration is that I have a very poor Broadband speed so the update file will take forever to download.

For info, I have just downloaded and installed the latest Europe/Rusian maps all on a 32gb stick, so it does fit.
Just takes an age to download, even with a good broadband speed and 20 to 30 mins to install, all working ok.
