MPG

Post by Sirrah4941 » Sun May 12, 2019 12:30 am

Hello all.

I guess we have already covered this but keen to know real mileage from your F Pace drives!! Looking at the
2 litre diesel (240) and the 3 litre diesel sitting on 22 rims. I know it’s the same engines as the Velar but wondered if anyone was getting healthy numbers? The book looks good but I know this is a bit creative!!

I am getting actual 42mpg on longer runs on a tankful (including a bit of local running about too) & probably mid 30's if all local (typical 10 mile trips). I have the gearbox set in 'S' mode on runs & there's a bit of 'Dynamic' in there too out of roundabouts etc. Not bad for a 3ltr 2, tonne vehicle. It compares very favourably with my Discovery Sport 180. 8-)

My 3.0d has been pretty consistent, c36 long term average mixture of motorway and stop start into city centre. 40+ on a longer, clear motorway run very achievable. Both without trying and never with eco mode which is completely pointless as it really blunts the performance.

It’s one of the things I’ve been really impressed with, I guess because the f-pace is much lighter than other suvs.

I am in complete agreement here. I didn't expect the mpg figures I am getting as I imagined it would be worse. Mid 30's on motorway speed runs and over 40mpg is easily achievable at lower speeds such as 40 to 60 mph A road journeys. Drops off in traffic. Dynamic/Sport mode and more spirited driving makes consumption drop off a bit too but never much below 30mpg. So you really get excellent performance and good fuel economy.

Long run 32mpg but short runs (local) about 24mpg.

Run in Eco all the time. Unless there is a tailgater when in a reduced speed area then it’s Sports mode to leave them standing at the end of restrictions.
Most journeys are 40 mpg When keeping to speed limits and keeping distances so no breaking it’s 50 mpg.
In 2016 we took the 2 Ltr and 3 Ltr Diesels for 2 hour test drives. I got 40 mpg from the 2 Ltr and 50 mpg from the 3 Ltr so went for the 3 Ltr S as it much smoother drive.

First Attachment is my best journey today.
The second is from last summer my best ever set of journeys.

I still can’t understand why anybody would buy a 3L diesel F-Pace and then run it in eco mode all the time. Perhaps I’m jdifferent but the only figure I’m interested in is the average speed not the average mpg.

Likewise. Can't see the point of worrying too much. It's the torque and acceleration that's the fun bit.

Smitten, Jeffrey, I'm with you guys! Why buy a performance car and restrict performance all the time to save a couple of quid per tank full of fuel???

More or less the same 28/29 MPG local driving and around 32 MPG on a long run. I do not know how some people achieve 40 MPG, they must be driving like a pussy!
