Wow, you're right, I hadn't even considered that possibility! :o

. . okay, here's another thought, posed as a rhetorical question . . is endemic risk-aversion at the heart of all problems in modern society? ;)

How about the no risk no reward way of life. :?

Hmmm.
I ordered my 25T R Sport in April 2018.
I waited a full 4 months for delivery-being told that the delay was due to JLR being
one of the first manufacturers to action the new vehicle emissions legislation.
That was why my new car was so delayed (its beyond our control). I took the medicine and if I am now being told that the
car has failed those tests.....................It has the 2019 software with the full sized touchscreen.
The wait was worth it as the car is sublime to drive as you all know.
Not received any notice yet but its a little unsettling.

Put CO2 in the free text box hit search at the top and you’ll see it’s all diesels no petrols.

That kind of makes sense.
The My18 25t models were rated in the 170co2 bracket and then the My19 25t models were rated into the higher group, if they are the same engine then makes sense that either the My18 group is raised or something is done to software to reduce emmissions - this sounds like probably a permanent eco mode :((
If that is the case then I’d rather pay extra on emmissions group as the power is just about right on sport mode.

:o Permanent Eco mode; me too Blucat. Mine is booked in 28/03 for battery test for stop start that doesn't work at any temperature, let alone a lower one, so will be very interested in the response to June16 post to Customer Relations in case it is forced on me.

Will interesting to hear what the outcome is, going on the H185 vin number range I may be lucky enough to avoid this so praying that I don’t get a recall letter.

But going on general laws of thermodynamics something’s got to give, either less fuelling, or better cheat software or genuine improved map for same power / better efficiency, if it’s the latter then would want that applied to my MY19 and get it re-certified to lower tax group.

Sorry to hear of your start/stop woes, hope you get that sorted

I think the actual differance is down to the type testing for mine and other MY 18 was under the old ( didgy) calculated figure , which it didn’t comply with . Where as the later models were under WLTP where the higher figure is noted as it is nearer the truth .
The main difference between MY18 and MY19 petrol is that the MY19 has a GPF .
The ingeniumm engine will emit the same guff, just later in MY19 it has a truer CO2 figure.

It’s all really to do with the figures used for the typing number issued. I’m not going to lose sleep over it and won’t get mine modified , I’m emitting a lot less than many other cars.
The supposed 2% isn’t going to kill anyone tbh.
Storm in a tea cup for Petrols , I’d be more concerned if it was a diesel , if you reduce CO2 a side effect is increasing NOx , so more add blue useage , less idling speed etc etc .....

Rumour for petrol is making stop start kick in when colder , ie earlier, I switch mine off every trip , so no difference.
