I have had two replacement windscreens in my f pace
The first replacement lasted 4 hrs before it was Brocken by another stone.
Both screens was fitted by non jaguar fitters but both was original jaguar replacements

Autoglass man who came to mine said SUVs are more prone as have a higher profile. Not very scientific but, there could be something in it...

Agree the more upright the screen the more likely to chip than skim off the surface.

We have had over the years several SUV's from Suzuki, Ford, a couple of Jeeps, RR Evoque. All without having to have a window screen replaced. Now had 2 F Pace , One had a replacement and the other now chipped. Was I lucky with the other SUV screens or are the F Pace screens easily chipped ?

Another thought. Maybe it's the roads and not the cars? I have had two chips in two years and none in the previous 40 years. Perhaps tyres are picking up more loose debris from poor road surfaces these days than in the past due to the decline in road maintenance budgets.

Yes smitten I go alone with that.
As VED is what we pay and this is appropriated for everything rather than just the roads.
Seems ages since I’ve seen a council road sweeping truck clean the roads of debris

+1 Smitten. I like to have thoughts in several directions.
What I will now try to do is to check what kind of car is in front of me when it makes Clonck on my windscreen.
SUVs, lorries, small cars? Perhaps it's the size of the wheel that grabs the stone?
More big wheels on the street = more chips?
To check out their profile we'll not get close enough :-)

Good point, bad roads and winter starting to bite means more potholes. More stones to be thrown up. Both times when I had screen damage it came from stones being thrown by large trucks.
