Here's some great photos of taking the F-Pace through some of the Australian outback, coincidentally the nearest part to me (about 8 hours drive away!) -

And that is a long way off the beaten track. Although the Mallee-Sunset National park is closer to civilisation (1 day drive vs 3) than many other popular parts of Australia (eg Ayers Rock) it is very unvisited, which makes it very dangerous. People die there who are inexperienced and unprepared. Nobody may find you for weeks if you break down.

great story, cheers for sharing
Rejected two beautiful F-Pace 3.0d S's, loved them both, other than the many faults. Back to a 535d BMW for me, not ruling out another JLR...Velar...but not in the first year of production again. JLR need to pull their socks up.

Great to see that the F-Pace really can manage well enough off-road to impress in the Outback and I thought the linked article on the F-Pace being a great modern day GT really summed up what I am looking for in a car:
I think many people want a car that offers a sporting drive, luxury, practicality, the ability to carry a touring load and not be scared by the dirt or rougher roads which are the gateway to so many of Australia’s most special experiences. This class of car is I think the new grand tourer, and it’s time for Jaguar to put a GT badge on the F-PACE.

A short video from Solihull showing some of the production process, the robots, final assembly and QA

The plastic protection panels are fitted at the start of the final assembly line to avoid scratching of the panels by the "Associates" as the production ops are called

Note the "Birth Certificate" that follows the vehicle through final assembly
