^ LOL .. the syncromesh was invented in 1950 Yorkie (for the Porsche 356 for those who don't know) so now you really are showing your age :)

Anyone seen this guy manage to beat the official 0-62 time of 6.2 seconds?

Look at 0:45s .. looks like he's created his own launch control by holding it on the brake and releasing at 2500rpm.

Shame there isn't a option in dynamics setup to test. I'm tempted to do a run or two. How are people realibaly tryiing to measure this.?

There's an app for the iPhone called dynolicious which accurately measures acceleration.

Quick update to this thread... after a week of very spirited driving my car is now pulling away in first ALL THE TIME! Even with a small amount of throttle. Even if you put the car into manual mode in S .. the gear selector on the dashboard will show "2" but it's pulling away in first. It will automatically change up from 1st to 2nd (even though in manual mode) and then remain in second until a manual upshift.

So we can deduce 3 things from this ...

1. Mik was right.
2. The box does indeed learn a driving pattern.
3. Mik's wife drives like a lunatic :)

Well well well, too late for me but great to know, avoid Mik's wife when she is out and about
Rejected two beautiful F-Pace 3.0d S's, loved them both, other than the many faults. Back to a 535d BMW for me, not ruling out another JLR...Velar...but not in the first year of production again. JLR need to pull their socks up.

interesting again. learning all the time 6 months on it seems.

In Sports mode doesn't the box auto shift - It did when I used it for the first time without paddles last week but last night in 2nd it hit the limiter caught me out completely made noises and lost power as I recovered the situation and manually switched it.

Oh I can also confirm the petrol is rapid. I've had a very mild remap and am now sub 5 seconds on the 0-60
