One quick question.

We know 25t , 35t are JLR in house engines.
What about V6 supercharged is it JLR or ford ?
Also what about this new V8 engine JLR or ford ?

The V8 isn't new and goes back to the mid nineties XK8/XJ when it was 4.0L

4.2 2002 to 2008, then 5.0L to date

The V6 is the V8 with one bank of cylinders lopped off.

All were paid for by Ford, but the distinct characteristics are Jaguar/JLR.... Built in Bridgend, and production will come to an end mid 2020.

I've had 4.0L, 4.2 L s/c, 5.0l s/c and 3.0l s/c and can confirm they are great in supercharged form.... Turbo engines have a very different characteristic, and I would have s/c every time. The Lotus twin turbo V8 was fun, but personally would avoid small capacity, hi-powered engines based on 20 years of experimentation.

The SVR is great, but so is the 3.0L s.... Both are the cream of the crop....

Remember that the mpg quoted by trip computer is 10% over estimate.

My 3.0L s/c gets 23-25 mpg on average. Had 30 on flat runs on A roads and 15 when driving hard.

Real world values, not JLR adjusted figures for the Chelsea set.... :-)

Engines, the current 4 cyl engines petrol and diesel are all JLR, there is an in-line 6 cyl promised which should be good for 400hp although I have not heard of it in any production cars yet .
The current V6 and V8 are Ford built and have served well for many years across the whole JLR Range
The “ New” V8 is rumored to be Mercedes but with the advent of the 6 cyl Ingenium is only likely to be used in the SVR or other extreme performance models
FPace 3.0D Portfolio Loire Blue, light interior, tow bar. No issues a very good car
Gone F Pace Prestige 2 liter Auto, tow bar, reversing camera, 14 way seats, 18 inch all season tyres

The Bridgend factory is technically referred to as a 'plant within a plant' so they are 'JLR' built. The 5.0L AJ-V8 isn't used in any Ford Cars, only JLR products, though previous versions/capacities were in US brands and Aston Martin.

The 'Mild Hybrid' 400 hp petrol engine is available now in Land Rover cars (Range Rover Sport definitely) as both 2.0L 400e or 3.0L straight six P400 ... =landrover

Thank you Guys some good information regarding engine its good to know, I always wondered before TATA it was FORD so would make sense sourcing tech from FORD. I think I read it somewhere gradually JLR is going to build its own in house engines but it was long time back and now they have started building 25t , 35t and diesels, plus looks like collaborative work on V8 from Ford after reading the comments.
Anyway it clears up things.
So in coming years we would know how much reliable these in house JLR engines are. (I mean tried and tested thing as with other manufacturers some engines are too good and some are prone to faults)

MY18 F Pace, 25t R sport, Firenze red, and some options.
Ex owner of Mercedes C200 AMG Line premium plus. I keep comparing the options and get disappointed sometimes JAG is missing out from half priced car.
