Satnav co-ordinates
Satnav co-ordinates
Does anyone know if it’s possible to put co-ordinates in to the satnav? I think it’s unlikely, and haven’t been able to find anywhere it seems possible, but it would be handy on occasions.

Re: Satnav co-ordinates
I just tried entering the decimal Lat Lon of my house into the Search Box in the JLR InControl route planner on my PC and that worked. I haven't tried just entering them into the search box in the car.

Re: Satnav co-ordinates
It works on the search box in the car as well. There are many places in my vicinity that do not have a postal address. I use the Long Lat coordinates quite frequently.

Re: Satnav co-ordinates
Thank you. Search facility in the car doesn’t seem to accept them but will try the route planner app. Must admit I haven’t really got to grips with the satnav in the car, I’m OK with the simple stuff but I’m sure it’s capable of more than I’m giving it credit for.

Re: Satnav co-ordinates
Ladyjen, are you entering the Lat and Long as decimal numbers I.e. 57.5N or as 57deg 30min 0 sec N?
In the PC app I entered as decimal numbers followed by N/S and E/W as per the above example in the form 57.5N 2.5W.
I only used the first 3 decimal places for the test, which was close enough for the software to identify my road and house number.

Re: Satnav co-ordinates
Trying to get to grips with the F-Pace SatNav and must admit its driving me nuts. I also can't seem to enter GPS coordinates directly and the town we're going to in the Alps only has one road listed in the database (not the right one). It was dead easy on our previous Touareg, you entered the GPS coordinates, selected a target directly on the map or entered a postcode/street.
I can't seem to find a Jaguar route planning website (can find a LandRover one but it won't link to our car). I have InControl Connected apps including Sygic but I can't figure out how to plan a route and send it directly to the cars own system. The Sygic app is a bit clunky as well trying to enter destinations on the phone app.
Anyone got a proper user guide or tutorial on this ?

Usually for more complicated destinations, I've always found Sygic to be the most helpful. There is an option on the app that allows entry
of GPS Coordinates. Not clumsy at all.....works like a charm.

Re: Satnav co-ordinates
It is possible to enter Latitude and Longitude co-ordinates into the SatNav as described a couple of posts above.
If your GPS system is providing national grid references try converting them to Lat Lon and entering them as decimal numbers followed by N/S and E/W, as described above, also not clumsy and works fine.
