I have asked my dealer this morning if my order can be officially placed now.
I decided to add a DVD player to my spec. Probably never use it, but better to have it and not use it - than need it and not have it!!

I’ve ordered my SVR today for delivery in April....
Delivery in April 2019 for a car officially 'Launched' in March 2018. Seriously, what a bunch of clowns JLR are (which is hard to say - try it!).
Probably still buy one in 2020 though.........

assuming it is actually possible to place an order with JLR..... my understanding is that the 'order books' are not open

Production starts in Dec but due to a back log in orders nothing available until March is what I was told but you believe what you like

Certainly will. Presumably you have a copy of the order and the Common Order Number provided by JLR?

I spoke to a dealer today and asked if I could now place an order and was told I can leave a deposit to secure one of their allocated cars. When would that be I asked? No idea, probably towards the end of Q1 2019.

That would be March then. But they're guessing as there is still no news.

I've been stung by this crap too many times that it's embarrassing.

So 1 month earlier then! My comments still stand on that basis.

Hi - I filled out the order details and paid my £9k deposit mid August this year, asked today if there were any news on my order. Seems the dealer cannot get any information as to build date. JLR have accepted the order, or the presence of it at least, but no official order has been placed it seems. I think it is shocking bad form for JLR to hype up what seems to be an ethereal vehicle, they need to come out with something, even if it is to say they have no idea when they will start production.
