XF to F-Pace Sat 17th March

Post by Flobo » Tue Mar 13, 2018 5:20 pm

Hi
New to the Forum! Moving from a Racing Green XF which has been outstanding to a Racing Green F-Pace this Saturday. Ordered early January and now cannot wait to get our (wife has 15 year old MX-5 but...) hands on it!. Not sure what tyres will be on the 19" wheels, so may have to be careful as snow is on its way back :?. May have to consider winter tyres late November.

Sounds great Flobo not many sleeps left. It will probably come with Pirelli P Zero tyres most 19” currently seem to.

Thank you for the 3 replies - will have to be very careful if forecast is right as many forum users claim Pirelli P zero tyres are not very good under 7 deg C! Also Lozpace, do,you recommend the Service Pack?

I do recommend the service pack, if you are keeping the car for three years plus it’s a no brainer. Even better value for petrol engines which I see you are having it will give you five services for £775, so basically £155 each.

Congrats on the change I have just done the same moved from an XF with 2.2 diesel (Ford Puma engine) which was a great car I did 73,000 miles (fault free) in 3 years in it so very experienced in driving that. Picked up my F Pace just over a week ago, different driving experience to the XF, but very happy with the swap up. Just too many gadgetry things to learn how to do.
I had a right pain getting the remote features to work so before you leave the dealership make sure all the connectivity (eg remote start from the phone) works, as it requires the dealer to register everything correctly.

Thanks for the advice. And to Lozpace for the link to the service pack - it does seem a no brainer!

I changed my XF Sportbrake for an F-Pace at the start of the year.
Very different to drive and lot more to learn on ICTP but found that much better.
I found the Jaguar YouTube tutorials quite useful.

How interesting to read these posts as I have done the exact opposite by effectively rejecting my second 2.0 D F Pace AWD and going back to the XF Sportbrake having enjoyed 2 previously. The way that the XF handles in all road conditions is superior to the F Pace and the 240 psi engine is certainly quieter and more responsive than the 180 unit I had in both F Paces. I sincerely hope that you guys will not be disappointed with your decision to take on the F Pace with its brilliant concept but disappointing quality issues with the infortainment ,vibration problems and hopeless back up from JLR when the problems occur.
Regretfully 2 Rejected F Paces behind me but now happily driving a 2018. 2.0 D 240 AWD XF Sportbrake in caesium blue.
