To give an update. I have covered more miles and not had the tyre jumping issue since it was taken in and returned to me. So far all good.

Hi @DPE - please could you let me know which garage have been dealing with your car as I need to get in touch with them and discuss. I have had my car returned to me with severe tyre skipping and been told it is design intent and they don't plan on doing anything. I would be interested to know what your Jaguar garage did... Many thanks!

Hello FPBurnham, I will call them and ask for a report of what they did. No problem to help, then I can let them know you may be calling them. I am in the Surrey area, where are you in the UK ?

Update. After I had the tyre jumping sorted out, it never happened again. I did 10,000 miles in 6 months. Enjoyed the car. I have now sold the F Pace and bought a new car. I went for a 3.0d S F Pace. Good News, No tyre jumping on this one.

So not a car issue but a tyre issue, will be interesting to see if the problems return next winter for those who still own a Fpace. ;)

It's a combination of things. Air temperature, tyre temp, width of tyre, size of tyre and precise steering geometry will all contribute to the Ackerman effect. Many cars, particularly 4x4s have it - real issue with Merc GLCs currently which might lead to some form of class action.
As a new owner with 22" wheels, but no issues as yet, I won't really know if my car will be affected until it gets colder in the Autumn.
