Map Update Download Site Issues

Post by Jagfpacejk » Thu Jun 15, 2017 7:51 pm

Dear Jaguar Customer Service,

I am trying to get an update download for my ITCP system, i go to the site https://jaguar.here.com/#home/0

I log in with no issues.

But it keeps asking me to add a vehicle, i do this with my Vin number but it again says i have not got a vehicle added.

I have also added it via the my account part of the site and add the vehicle and it says vehicle added, click off the page and it then again says no vehicle added, i have tried this in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome with no joy.

Any advice on how to resolve this?

Thank you.

I've got the same problem. After many attempts I reluctantly rang the dealer (poor previous experience), after much confusion was quoted nearly £200 for a new SD card :ugeek: The conversation left me unsure whether this would contain later maps than the once I've got already.
This is a £50K car just over 1 year old with the full service plan/ warranty!! I've never been impressed with the Sat Nav on this car (ICT), not a patch on my 10 year old Toyota Prius. Decided not to both and will use my far superior TomTom device (map updates £30 - £40 quid a year).

Whilst driving in N Yorks recently, I noticed satnav was showing travelling through fields, so pondered on how new my map version was. Car was already booked in for ICTP this week so asked nice service reception girl what version I had and what updates were available. I have a 5 year service plan with all the bells and whistles. She thought I had 2015 version- strange on a late 2016 car I remarked.

Today after returning courtesy car ( Volvo XC60 and a nice car too) I was presented with a bill for £72. I asked what bill was for and was told for updating your maps. After explaining that I had not been told of any cost and had not authorised the work the Service Manager then appeared. He retorted "well we didn't charge you the full hourly rate" and walked off. So do we pay every year for updated maps when it is clearly a major part of ICTP system ??? Am I reading it correctly that updates are free from Jaguar uk via downloads to sim???

As an aside I recently bought for my daughter, a Garmin Sat Nav with free lifetime updates for £69.To my mind as a Garmin user ( on my BMW motorcycle) their maps and systems are far superior to the Jaguar version.

So all in all not a good experience of device, or Customer Service. How ironic that a letter arrived this afternoon from the dealership Principal saying "Hope you have had good service from us , a questionnaire will arrive shortly from Jaguar HQ, please give favourable opinions of us".
Will fire off a response tomorrow when I have calmed down.

Map updates should be free, certainly for first 3 years.

They probably charged you for their 'labour' to download map onto memory stick and then put it on your car, not the update itself.

It can take a while to download, but you can just leave the computer running etc. Not exactly working down 't pit for a handful of gravel....
