Does anyone in this group have a phase 4 update which includes CarPlay and are using it successfully? Which mileage year?
In speaking with dealer today they talked about a fix that they’re doing “network testing” on - ie working closely with a few dealers to test (rather than a big release).
I’m having mine (manufactured July 2017) updated to latest phase 4 next week and can report back then...
Over on the Discovery 5 forum yes they have Car Play working , well one person does !
It is a further software update on top of ICTP 18c ( which some are calling phase 5 for some reason which is due End October)

It May well be a test release as you say on specific cars for the Apple car play being enabled as a test roll out .
The story is over here
https://disco5.co.uk/forum/thread1472-15.html

I have also heard the following
That currently this car play software enable is for SDD Vehicles I.e before MY18 ( which are pathfinder) which will come later.

I think patience is the key

hi - I am due to get my car serviced + software updated. My service centre can't confirm whether I will get an update with android auto or not - can anyone confirm if this is rolling out for f-paces with ICTP (MY18) yet and, if so, is it just the 18C update number I need to ask for?

Thanks

Some articles appeared in press in relation to roll-out of Carplay and Android Auto - e.g.:
https://www.theverge.com/transportation ... rover-cars

It seems to be the case that for MY2019 purchasers it will be a communications pack addon (a bit ridiculous tbh) but still not clear if chargeable for existing owners or not... given all our woes with the info systems to date I surely hope not!

If anyone has any more insight, would be great..

Hi

I had my XF ICTP updated today

I now have Android auto and apple car play

I went from 2.5 to this version, it feels like the latest version

So far so good, only problem is the car no longer sends out ETA texts for the sat nav
Hitman, great news if you have CarPlay! Can you post screen shots and the ICTP version number?

This is version number, I'm an android user so haven't used carplay
I've had my 17MY XF ICTP updated to exactly the same version number as you have, but no Android Auto or Car Play. What MY is yours, I'm wondering if it's 18MY+ or they just missed something?

Speaking to another dealer they think it sounds like the dealer I went to forgot to run the 'Smartphone pack activation program' after doing the update. Getting it booked in so they can have a look.

Yes it’s not just the 18c update you need , there is a further enabling required to get AA/ACP .
Let us know how you get on , some dealers are reluctant to enable at the moment .
Others are saying it will be chargeable item to enable . A lot of inconsistency in dealerships at the moment.

They've just phoned me back with a slot next Wednesday to do it so I'll let you know, all I had to do was mention that I also didn't have Deezer/Tunein which is also part of it apparently if your vehicle has 'Live'

My car went in today (again) and they'll update to "latest" phase 4 update - presumably 18C - lets see what that provides.
As far as I can tell from this forum and others, there are no FPs with CarPlay yet - XFs, Discos etc, but not FPs. Happy to be proved wrong.
