Gearbox - clunky at low speeds?

Post by nphe9974 » Sun Apr 08, 2018 9:46 am

Morning, I've covered c 24,000 miles in my F-Pace 3.0D over the last 14 months.

Recently, the gear changes at low speed seem to have become much rougher - for want of a better word it clunks into gear when changing up under light throttle load. Has anyone else experienced this?

The car is going in for the safety recall on the virtual cluster over the next few weeks so I will add this to the list of things for them to look at (including the ICTP update to solve the slow start up and bluetooth issues) but would be useful to know if others have had the gearbox issue?

Many thanks

I find the gearbox super smooth on my 3.0 petrol.

You could try resetting the gearbox learning and see if it helps. I assume this works on a Jaguars as it does on Land Rovers.

1) Press Start button but don't turn on the engine.
2) Press the Accelerator down to the floor for about 15 seconds.
3) Hit the start button again to turn off the power.
4) Remove foot from Accelerator
5) Wait for 2 Mins.
6) Start the engine and Drive.

Wow, loz, how did you ever discover that little hack? . . never knew that could be done!

If anyone tries this one, just make sure you only put the ignition on, don't start the engine and press the accelerator pedal to the floor for fifteeen seconds or you could find yourself careering through the back of your garage wall !!!

I wonder what other hidden 're-sets' there are on these cars... there was another one that was discussed on the forum where you could disable the keyless entry feature.

Hopefully it does, the information came from an Evoque forum their members swear by it.
