Sounds like it isn't much more expensive than screen wash so worthwhile keeping some handy for interim top up's and letting it run low to coincide with services for a free refill, if you have the service card.

It would have been an expensive latte had I not had the service pack which made it free (both the adblue and latte)

My wife's driving is mainly a road commute and stuck in the traffic of Nottingham whereas my driving is mainly fast motorway driving (all the way up to 70mph, honest officer)

I had my first AdBlue warning yesterday. This was at 4,400 miles. It told me to add 12 litres. Obviously I didn’t know how much it contained on delivery. I stopped at the first garage, poured in the contents of three 3.5 litre squeezy bottles; the warning cleared and I went on my way in 5 minutes. No big deal - easy peasy!

My experience - around 11500 miles, a warning appeared every time I started the car advising that the level was low. then around 400 miles from that I had a constant yellow warning saying that I had to add it. Not wanting to leave it until the Red warning, apparently the car won't run (myth??), I went to Halfords and got a 10Ltr container for £15. The hardest part that I found was taking the Adblue cap off, its a twist and a pull and then under that is a proper cap. The container came with a pouring spout which I inserted and chucked all 10Ltrs in (apparently my Adblue tank has a 17Ltr capacity). I then switched the electrics on and looked to see when it was advising for my next Adblue top up and it said 12300 miles. so all in all, job a good one and no dramas.
I have a 17 model 2ltr diesel R sport if that helps and have put all the miles on it myself (new Oct 16) - my commute is very short each day (3 miles each way).

For those not on the service plan be aware that when the vehicle is in the dealership - in my case for the ITCP updating- they will recommend that it is topped up - at their prices, and not the Amazon price I had paid and filled the tank, such that it had at least another 8000 miles.
Couldn't be bothered saying no, but they will be making the same margins they do on engine oil.
Next visit I will top it up prior to it going in!

Going to Europe this weekend, needed Ad Blue and dealer was fine but the blue cap is such a tight fit in the plastic collar to stop losing the cap, that it really was difficult to undo and redo tight. If you try this your self I'd suggest a little washing up liquid around the cap restraining collar to enable you to turn the ad blue cap. Anyway I have service deal so this was zero cost. I can't say the same for the £17 bottle of 0W-30SAE oil I needed. 9400 miles ...

Just had first service done and the AddBlu topped up for the first time, it took 15.2 Litres after 10,849 miles. So that Is 714 miles per Litre.
That’s good I’ll just require a top up at annual services It’s free with the 5 year servicing. Jaguar states 420 miles per litre.

Checking through my previous car records my 2015 VW Touareg 3Litre V6 was using 40 ltr per 10,000 miles. I had to purchase the stuff in bulk from motor factors at £1/Ltr.
