Just received this regarding the Smartphone Pack on pre 19MY vehicles:

"Quick note to inform you that JLR are working at a way of successfully retrofitting the Smart Phone Pack functionality as currently there are issues of non-compatibility with pre 19MY Next Generation Infotainment systems."

I do hope the issues are resolved quickly, it would be a great addition and make it easier to access BBC radio and Google maps!

Strange ....it’s already being fitted to MY17 abd 18 successfuly .
Mines booked in tomorrow too.

So not sure where non compatibility comes into it , the read me file from JLR states it can be installed to MY17 onwards.

As with all things having a good dealer is key .

There is no stop installing directive released currently, so maybe just your dealer is having issues that he needs to sort out.

Plenty on the DS and on here having it installed to pre MY19 vehicles.

I have just had the latest update plus CarPlay put on my cat M/Y 2018. I can confirm CarPlay works well however there are still problems with jaguar in control apps. ( if you use CarPlay you don’t really need them).

OK I have just spoken to my dealer my vehicle is Gibraltar spec and although it has the ICT Pro it doesn't come with the incontrol Apps, hence the issue. No problem in downloading the latest software but installing the Smartphone pack is problematic, apparently Jaguar are working on it!

Hi,
Did you have to pay for this ? If not do you mind me asking which dealership are you with ?
Lancaster Reading are trying to charge me £200 for car play, but most are getting this free.

Sat at dealers just now , they are happy to install and will check into pricing , but it would be good to name a couple of dealers not charging for it to help my case .
Thanks

Hi June, mine was free of charge and our dealer is Marshall Jaguar. Some dealerships are trying to charge but if you have problems with the system they will (if you push) do it for free. The actual phone pack that gives car play only takes about 20 minutes to load on to the car.

Thank you ! They are now doing mine free !
More because they’ haven’t got my winter tyres in ( due to be fitted today) .

I did say Marshall’s are doing this free and it would be a poor show if I left here after 18c and drove to Marshall’s to get Car Play Enabled  .
Thanks again.
