Can anyone tell me how to operate this facility, I'm lost?

Be very wary that the car doesn't determine incorrect speed limits, I've seen this on a borrowed car - it said 70mph outside a school in town! - and others have reported it on this forum. If stopped its still your fault!

Press and hold cancel on the steering wheel for about 3 seconds. Display will say speed limiter not available (as intelligent speed limiter is now on) and an "i" icon is added to the speed limiter icon.
You then have to press "RESume" to start it.

You can set it to +/- 6mph of recorded speed, which stays set even if the speed limit changes.

Am I reading this topic correctly? Does the speed limiter adjust itself according to the speed limit it detects? Is this a standard feature?

I asked this question during my test drive and was told this feature didn't exist.

It exists but use with caution. I have had quite a few instances where the system has not detected the correct speed limit. There have been other times when it has identified the limit correctly and I haven't!

Last summer it decided the 30 km/h speed limit in a sleepy, French village was actually 130km/h and shot off like a rocket!
