New F pace 1st Edition.
Only 5 months old and 5000mls and already there is significant deterioration of the leather of my drivers seat.
Anyone else encountering a similar problem?

Accountants are running JLR now and I feel the quality of the current models is not as good as it was.
I quickly noticed the quality of the leather on my F pace is not as good as on previous XFs and even these deteriorated from my first on 2008 to my last Sportbrake in 2015.
I had my dealers F Pace S demonstrator for 3 days last week and with 9040 miles since April I noticed that the drivers seat bolster was very creased, stitching was coming undone and there were very bad scuff marks on the lower plastic trim on the doors. This was an early production car but I hope that the drivers seat in mine does not get into this state any time soon or my car does not develop the rattles evident on this demonstrator.

Yes it's a problem. 3/4 of my seats are badly fitting and drivers is creased - 1000 miles and issues.
Mine getting changed but a long lead time as a shortage funny enough.

Any pictures Davel ?

Having the same problem only done 1600 miles been there after the first 3 weeks as I have started the hand back process I called in to a showroom today and there wasn't one built well now I know what to look for
These cars are poorly put together when you have a good look over them hopefully mine was a one off but I don't think so have yet to see one I can't find something sitting squint ( I am not fussy and have better things to do with my time than hand a £50k car back but I can only see things getting worse) called in to an Audi dealer to look at sq5 today and it's like time and effort was put in to building it YES YES YES it's nowhere near as good looking but 340 bhp and the same toys as my fpace for 2k less think I know where I will be going when i return my fpace I am very disapointed as I have spent the last 12 months dreaming about this car

How much do you weigh Ro66ter?
I only drive it 25% of the time (wife 75%) im 13/7 and my wife 10/2 so you can rule out the fatty theory lol
That's a bit of a disappointing answer, we were secretly hoping you were both 20 stone. In fact I'd suggest you both go out for a good meal to avoid wasting away. :!:

Hey Davel. Those are shockingly bad. You might expect that after 50,000 miles not 5,000. Your dealer will surely sort straight away no questions asked.

I have to say that my experience of leather interiors is the better the quality of the leather the worse it wears. I had a brand new Bentley Continental with ivory seats and contrast piping after less than 1,000 miles I noticed the creases and greying of the base cushion and side bolsters. OK the colour was a nightmare especially if you wore jeans! Bentley replaced the seat covers but to no avail, the creasing re appeared and I guess you just accept the patina that results from use.

I specifically did not order leather on my wife's previous car, a VW Golf GTi Mk 7 as the leather on her Mk 6 was horrible, badly stretched and creased abysmally. My F-Pace has the perforated leather and it has now covered 6,500 miles since April, Yes it has a few creases but that is to be expected, in my opinion "fair wear and tear"

If you always want the seats to be pristine in a vehicle choose cloth or vinyl, after 2 years it still looks brand new!

Yes I hear you but his isn't normal wear. The surface of the leather has worn completely away. That's not right.
My two previous Jags (XJ and XF) had less wear and looked in better condition after approx. 100,000 miles in 5 years each. XJ a light cream colour, the XF black. The damage to your seat looks like the surface is pealing off, have you spoken to your dealer or JLR?

Well now the big question is what weight are you russell

Often cheap leather is sprayed with a coating or a filler to smooth rough hides. You get this in household furniture too....leather sofas etc. That is definitely warranty claim, that wear should not be that extreme over such a small period of time.

Can you post a photo? Seat leather quality was an issue with mine. Regards.
It looks to me like something is rubbing on the edges of the seat leather, possibly a belt or jeans with embellishment, if this were to be the case it would not be covered under the warranty.

Normal creasing is to be expected even after 1000 miles or so, that is a characteristic of leather / skin! If you don't like the look you would be better off taking a vinyl or cloth option if available?

Personally I like the patina of a gently used seat, my F-Pace has covered 6,500 miles over the last 7 months and does indeed have several creases. :D
