So all the different variants (R, S Portfolio etc) have their tell tale asthectic differences in body styling but from what I've seen so far there is no way to tell which engine variant the car has just by external visuals?

So I've just noticed the 2:0L engines have a twin exhaust with the tips together on one side of the car and the 3:0L are one tip either side being the only difference I can spot.

This is here in the UK, but as we have seen European models wil be different.
Can get 3.0d in R-sport, prestige, portfolio and they also have a pure!
But surely the exhaust position on the 3.0L engines will be the same regardless of country so that will always be the way to determine engine size.

Only when Jag introduce the 2.0L petrol will it be difficult to tell what fuel of small engined is used.

The whole thread was about not knowing which engine you had and not being able to tell from the exterior
Which is why I was puzzled by your comment and showing a badged up 3.0D.....doesn't matter really.
