June 16, if you are coming to live anywhere near Inverness, there is only one dealer and you'll be pleased to hear that in over 30 years of doing business with them I have not had any serious disappointments with them. I, like you, expect a reasonably high level of service, and they do try to achieve this.

On a related but slightly different topic - Bit early for putting the 'winters' on isn't it? Still double-digit centigrade where I live which will burn through winter tyres at twice the rate of summers. Last week in November is the earliest I've ever had my winter wheels put on, and might well be later this year!!

Bought a house in Scottish Highlands ,, so driving back and fore to their next month. If staying down here in the SE. Yes it would be a bit early.

Well it's back.

It has the correct tyres on 👍
The wheels look spotless 👍
The car had a full valet 👍

It's a bit dark to see much as it just been returned.
I'm happy now!

Well done to your dealer, just a pity they made you have to report their initial actions on here as opposed to a happy story of 'whoops we cocked up, sorry we'll sort it out if you can give us a little time' and then got it right as they have eventually.

I checked the year of manufacture in the tyres and they are the 41st week of 2017 (4117), so that means whilst it's ok to sell them they certainly weren't made this year.

I've always been wairy of Tyres age having been sold a set of "new tyres" previously that were 6 years old, so I always check the DOT last 4 numbers on the tyre.

There is no law against selling old tyres, it's one to watch for. They have a shelf life.

Checked the last 4 digits of the DOT on my new winter tyres today and they are all 3218 so week 32 (1st week August) in 2018. Pretty pleased with that.

Wow, was shocked reading this. I also swapped tyres out after a year and a half as I had a 2nd puncture on the Pirelli P-Zeros. I'm on 19" Alloys as I wanted the more cushioned ride. Size is 255/55 R19 W (111)

I went for Michellin Lattitude Tour HP's from a local garage in Leicester, costs was £135.00 fitted each, so £540.00 for the full set. they are noticeably quieter than the Pirelli and better performance in the wet too.

As for the price, my sister in law owns and runs a high end tyre garage in Milton Keynes, so i checked price with her before proceeding and was told it was a great price and she would not be able to match it. I also checked a well known tyre selling online retailer and there was only a small difference of around £5 per tyre which accounts for fitting and balancing.
