I just noticed the below lyrics from a Pink Floyd song THE MACHINE.
They mention Jaguar in the lyrics :)

"Welcome To The Machine"
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
Where have you been? It's alright we know where you've been.
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time,
provided with toys and Scouting for Boys.
You bought a guitar to punish your ma,
And you didn't like school, and you know you're nobody's fool,
So welcome to the machine.
Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.
What did you dream? It's alright we told you what to dream.
You dreamed of a big star, he played a mean guitar,
He always ate in the Steak Bar. He loved to drive in his Jaguar.
So welcome to the machine.

Great catch @steisin ! . . and, in a flash, you just took me right back to Christmas 1975; yes, I will reluctantly admit I was actually there, and I bought that album as a present for my brother!

Good idea for a new thread, songs that mention Jaguars in their lyrics.

I have another one that I'll bet no-one can guess, at least not without resorting to Google :?: :

Snow laying all around, a collier cycles home
From his night shift underground
Past the silent pub, Primary school, workingmen's club
On the road from the pithead
The churchyard packed with mining dead

Then beneath the bridge he comes to a giant car
A shroud of snow upon the roof, a Mark Ten Jaguar
He thought the man was fast asleep, silent, still and deep
Both dead and cold, shot through with bullet holes
. . . answers on a postcard please (or just post below..)

"I've been driving in my car, it's not quite a Jaguar
I bought it in Primrose Hill from a bloke from Brazil
It was made in fifty-nine in a factory by the Tyne
It says Morris on the door, the G.P.O. owned it before
I drive in it for my job, the governor calls me a slob
But I don't really care, give me some gas and the open air"

I think you will all get this one

Okay, just one more...

"He's got a brand new car
Looks like a Jaguar
It's got leather seats
It's got a CD player (player, player, player...)"

(....ahem, not unless he bought it with InControl Pro for an extra £1700)

An early time to be driving Catwoman...... So part of my getting to know my f-pace will be setting of from home Oswestry at about that time, out via Bala to Port Merrion down to Aber and back via Newton Welshpool a good 4-5 hours and be back for breakfast..... Feels like I might need to start my Spotify playlist with that track to kick of the morning..... Sadly I was hoping to do this on a sunny spring morning whilst SWMBO plays with her horses but it looks like it might now be an early autum experience.... That said the reprise of that with engine run will be more fun, the last time I did that run in my Audi Quattro 3.0d I got it's normal 38-40mpg to 29.7 for the circa 250 miles it was a hoot....

Well, that definitely sounds like a good way to get oneself acquainted with a new car. 5:15am may be a fairly sedate way to kick off your accompanying soundtrack, but if you like that kind of stuff, then I recommend you add "Don't You Get It" from the Golden Heart album . . and maybe a little "Speedway At Nazareth" (from ..Philadelphia) to your playlist for when you get out onto the open road. Have fun, whenever.
