Article from CarScoops:

I also think it will be fascinating to see if the F-Pace can get anywhere near the XE in terms of sales. On one hand, it will be more expensive so odds are...no. But on the other hand, if people resist buying into Jaguar's philosophy of building a sports saloon, we might just see their SUV sales grow beyond expectations. After all, we are slowly turning into an "SUV generation".

I expect this to be a massive worldwide success, as the market for such vehicles is buoyant and the styling is spot on, it's one of the few sporty SUVs that actually looks sporty, and not like a jacked up estate car! At first I was worried it would be a rehashed Evoque or RRS, but from reading the spec it feels very different, a performance on road vehicle with 4wd for extra traction and grip.

Maybe there was a time when the idea of the F-Pace represented some kind of risk for Jaguar, in days when specialist car manufacturers were expected to stick to the areas of the market their history said they should. But those days are gone.

Today, Jaguar's mould-breaking "sports crossover" represents a gigantic opportunity - which is why Jaguar design director Ian Callum, formerly a crossover sceptic, is confident that when the F-Pace hits its production stride, it'll be the best-selling Jaguar in the range. And that will make it the best-selling Jaguar in history.
