Replaced my timing chains, posting a question

Just had mine done and as preventative maintenance I've 1) disabled the stop start - pull cable in boot 2) Oil change every 10k not 20k. 3) Only used genuine JLR parts I think some parts were revised?? 4) don't only do short trips.

Hopefully all the above should see longevity from this engine.

Hi Keith I had quite a lot of work done a complete 204DTH engine installed at the time and the gearbox and diff oil changed etc. I was getting quotes of 2k-3k from independents for just the chains. An example was Tim fry Landover in Cheltenham. It is a big job and I would make sure they use genuine parts which I think would add up being somewhere in the region of ÂŁ750 alone.
