Hi all,

With all the talk of quality issues relating to the F-Pace's that have been delivered, I wondered how many of you have not had any quality issues by comparison. I get mine on 1/9 and cannot wait!!
Anyway, over to you... :D

Not taken delivery yet but I would say that a delivery date that seems constantly in flux shows a lack of quality

Took delivery of mine two weeks ago we have driven 700 miles to southern France, We have now covered over 1500 miles and not one problem, touch wood, the car handles like a dream on the quiet winding French roads. Maybe they have been able to address the early problems

Creaking suspension which is due to go in for what is according to the service department a simple two hour job. Other than that my FP has been fault free.

Poor bonnet alignment and poor passenger door alignment on collection  , corrected by dealer within a week. Now I have the creaking suspension which is really not too bad and a rear parking sensor that turns red and bleeps although nothing is there, booked to go back in for that fix too. Always had faults with the JLR cars (this is my 4th JLR vechicle), so not disappointed by this at all, dealer is very responsive and car is still fab!

Poor passenger door, rear passenger door and boot alignment the boot was at least 4 MM out this was after telling them I have a good eye for detail as I sell /design kitchens. They have had the car for 4 days while I was away on holiday at Disneyland and I suspect there are a few Disney characters missing and are working at my dealers as the boot is still the same lol. They also collected my car and returned it using my petrol ( round trip of 85 miles)

Can you really call the issues with ITCP a quality problems?

To me such a statement is the reserve of bad workmanship.

It might have been interesting to find out the split on 2.0 & 3.0 ltr to see if there were more problems with one or the other as it seems most of those posting with ICTP problems are 3.0 ltr

It may be that some of the 2.0 were chosen through a limited budget and as such may have less of the exotic toys - more mainstream, whereas people that were able / prepared to go for a car with more toys have fallen foul of the interoperability issues which I suspect is at the heart of the software problems

I'm afraid I have had enough of this forum with other members who have 3.0 ltr cars looking down on those with 2.0'ltr s through some misguided sense that they are better off financially than others. My personal preference was. 2.0 ltr as I did not need the power living where I do and I put as many toys on it that I wanted including ICTP which I have never had a problem with. I feel for those that have had problems and hope they get them resolved no matter what the cc of their car

I mostly agree with this sentiment, if the 3.0 owners think and then express the view they are better than 2.0 owners, then that's probably a poor reflection on them. I accept that "Doppleganger" is trying to establish if the complexity of the systems might be the root of the problems but my 2.0 Portfolio started at a high level of complexity even though it only has 4 cylinders! I deliberately left off options that I saw as gimmicks (head up display, self parking , all round cameras that didn't do what I wanted - record like a dashcam, electric and heated steering wheel had if in XF before, these are all totally pointless options to me, just my view - each to their own!). My experience so far is that like many software developers assumptions are made by people with limited specialist knowledge and experience, leading to inadequate products - the F-Pace reeks of these!

Anyway in a few months, if Jaguar don't sort the long list of problems seen here on this forum, we are all going to be left with expensive lemons. I am right now thinking that at 3.5 months of ownership I need to make a lot of noise about the ICTPro, ride (dynamic suspension) with a possible refund demand soon from my dealer. Agreed my F-Pace problems are trivial compared to some, but I didn't buy faulty goods on purpose, no matter how big or small the engine is!

Surely that should be the common cause here, find solutions to problems!

I personally do not think the issues are engine related, more to do with if you have the upgraded ITCP system on a personal view, as for engines you choose what suits you and your budget.

I would agree with the opinion that more S model cars have ICTP than versions with the smaller engine based on the assumption that if you are willing to pay more for the S model then chances are you are also willing to tick more of the option boxes.

I don't believe it was looking down one's nose at 2.0Ltr owners was the intention, most who choose the 2.0Ltr do so because they don't want to spend the extra dosh of the 3.0Ltr.... this is a financial decision not because they can't more a case of not wanting to.
