Just wondering if you petrol guys have even listened to the engine under the bonnet . Does it sound just a little tappety?
I know I've read somewhere - probably topix that it's acceptable to have some

Just interested, haven't had a petrol in a long long time and most of those were rotary engines oh and a crap£y XJS that ran on 6 of its 12 cylinders about 15 years ago.
Done a video have to see if I can upload unless somebody can beat me to it.

Can hear it as moves to the sides near cylinders

I know this may sound stupid but how much oil is in the engine, I had a Petrol car in the past that sounded similar and the engine oil level was low, not low enough to put the warning light up but just above the warning level, once I put the oil level back to the correct level the sound did not go it did quieten down somewhat.

My Petrol Evoque was a little engine noisy also but again not as noisy as yours appears.

Just something worth double checking.

Could be anything you'll only know by asking the service dept to check. My petrol Evoque was very tappety when new but settled down and seemed to get quieter throughout its life.

Yes I'm not overly concerned as it's new and under warranty end of the day
Just wondering if that's normal or a few other petrol guys say no way !!
Plan to contact dealers in next 2 weeks over the small niggles - save them all up

Nice one bonkers. It does sound a bit like my old diesel except that was the sound outside of the bonenet.
It's actually very quiet with bonnet closed

And with bonnet closed you should hear it. Very very nice sound out the back with a bit of a press on the pedal.
Where's the SVR version.

Sounds like the high pressure fuel pumps making the ticking noise.

Yes its just the injectors. Just been so long since I've had a petrol engine and a noisy one like this.
All fine had somebody Jag listen to it and the same as the F Types.
