I cant find the sat nav SD card - I've only got one slot for the Sim Card - Does anyone know how to download new maps ??

Have you got a usb socket, near the SIM card socket?

also helps to know what f-pace you have and the infotainment system.

I can see a 2018 so likely MY19 or at worst M18 which is good news.

is it ICTP Pro version (10” full touch screen with no buttons at sides) or more basic ICT (smaller screen with physical buttons to press at sides.

Needs a Here account subscription and the account is also logged into from the satnav in the car. Once all active, you download the new maps (new map every month it seems) on a PC or Mac to a 64GB USB thumb drive. Once successfully downloaded, plug the USB drive in one of the car's USB sockets and go for a 45 minute drive. Or leave the car ticking over for 45 mins, but the engine must be running. No subscription or Here account then no map updates. The updates are created locked to the car's VIN.

Exactly as @cutlea01 says.
I just did mine, cost ÂŁ129 for three years subscription which I think is very good. New maps every few months I am about to do my second upgrade.
The upgrade corrected all the errors on my intelligent speed limiter, it’s excellent now.
The memory stick must be FAT32 formatted.
I bought a new 64Gb one for about ÂŁ7, formatted it and only use it for the updates.

I’m now curious as to once you have it downloaded onto a memory stick if you could use that stick to update in any vehicle or of the map update is linked to vin to prevent sharing. Anyone know or tried this at all?

It's VIN linked, the update simply fails to load if you insert the USB stick in another vehicle. Here have protected the updates else people would be selling them on Ebay.

Figured it would be just wondered if anyone had ever tried.

even if vin locked am sure some clever programmer smarts person could edit files to swap vin identifiers and enable it to work.

I expect the VIN is salted/hashed & encrypted so little to no chance to uncode and recode to another vehicle. And for ÂŁ40/year ish there's no point.

I installed the latest map update on ICTP yesterday. The car said allow 30 mins uninterrupted after I inserted the USB but it was completely done in 15 mins. Much simpler than the early Evoques where you had to do a finalisation procedure.

It's mainly down to the speed of the USB stick, or SSD you use. The car can read/write very fast for it's age. I'm a fan of the Here maps.
Though I'd recommend updating the maps while you're on the way somewhere. Not good for any engine to be idling for long. At least raise the revs occasionally to get the oil pressure up.
