I think mine took over 1.5 days... Get a 24GB "3" data SIM through Amazon, valid for up to 2 years for £35.

Mine took just over 24 hours to fully register bit that was with an active SIM in the car. If your only connected via your home WiFi you may find that the connection is only active when the ignition is on.

The InContral data uses the built-in SIM not the user's data SIM, AFAIK.

Ah yes you are probably correct, I should refrain from posting when its late. Have not tested though as popped in the user SIM as soon as I picked up.
