So due to work commitments and lack of time to enjoy the car I'm reluctantly thinking of selling the first edition I managed to get back in April last year.

If you are after an F-Pace and fancy a first edition in caesium blue let me know, my car is virtially brand new with a 5 year service pack and currently only 640 miles on the clock! Yes only 640 miles!!!

I've had a look around on autotrader and the closest with the service pack and mileage of 3k is on for £63,995. So I'm open to reasonable offers, before I take it to the trade.

Good luck with the sale, I have seen the first editions for more, I have seen them being sold for 65995 to 67995 for cars of same age but around as you say 3k or more of mileage so do not sell it for short.

Thanks Jk, I know the prices seem to be all over the place, I though I'd go for quoting conservative figures as illustrations as my preference Is to see the car go to someone who wants it rather then go down the trade route, so keen to hear from those who are out there looking at the moment!

I also have a plate specific to the first edition on the car J44G FE, which can be had separately for those interested.

Two weeks ago and I would have made a serious offer for this as I was after a low mileage FE. Alas I committed myself to an contract hire vehicle on 23 December so no go.

As someone that watched the prices for 6th months, I will suspect you will struggle to get the price currently sought, but it will sell for not less than £62,500. Dealers have recently sold sub 1000 mile examples around the country for around £62k with their protections for the customer, whereas a private sale has none of that. An important thing for someone spending £60k + on a premium vehicle.

Your still get the warranty and the service package and if there are issues the dealer near to you will take care of you, the only protection you get is the 6 month return of vehicle which i guess for some maybe worth having but to 99% of people will not.

If you brought from a dealer and they no longer trade you would be in the same position, seen that happen many times.

^ have to say I haven't ever really seen the value in a main dealer, and I've bought from specialist car companies before, you know the kind that pre-order a batch of cars and have them ready to go at discount, or sell nearly new high spec/high performance cars.

However this whole experience with rejecting a vehicle has made me appreciate a great main dealer. If I'd bought my car from one of these specialist car companies, or even privately where would my come back be? Yes I can get it maintained and warranty items covered at any main dealer, but not the level of support I have had in trying to get my issues resolved, resulting ultimately in a replacement car being ordered.

So I've changed my opinion completely. Of course it somewhat depends on the vehicle. The F Pace being such a brand new design comes with built-in foibles and I know JLR is working really hard to get everything fixed and I'm sure they will. I probably won't ever buy a brand new car again - I think after this I will go back to my previously tried and tested method of getting a nearly new model that's been out a year or so.

Having said all of that you have a very desirable car there, and I'm sure it will sell. I would have bought it at around the £62.5k mark but it's missing a few must haves for me spec wise.

Good luck.

Thanks all, its always preference about buying through a dealer or private but with nearly new cars I really don't see the point in paying dealer prices, but as they say each to their own.

I'll be sending a few emails to the local dealers to see if they are interested to purchase, I'd quite like to see what they would market it at!

Ok so I've decided to give the car to trade for ease of transaction as I don't have time to do viewings etc if I was to go down the private sale route on autotrader. I'm currently in negotiations with a few dealers, but I'll be taking the plate off the car today so it will be available if anyone is interested for their first edition the plate is: J44G FE (Jag First Edition) and really does look great on the car, sensible offers considered, PM if interested.
