The good wife thinks i don't know what i am at...
we had the double beep happening randomly and the drivers rear would sometimes not unlock until the beep got constant - so i went out to check and see what was going on.
5 minutes in, i felt like a bit of an egit, take the key out of my hand, might help keep the doors locked lol.
Anyway i got it down to the drivers door not locking.
I checked the price £150 plus the vat!! thought about getting one off the bay of thieves, but then went for new as I would have better confidence that the part works.
Got it fitted - word of warning - the instruction neglect to mention the window runner is in the way and a PITA, got it all back together and after the odd funny all worked again.
Fast forward a week and i give the car a good clean inside and out, and I notice that the drivers rear door handle is doing the lock or more like an unlock thing nearly anytime you touch it, even when the door is open. At first i thought it was a broken door loom, but then i could get a double flash of the indicators just by tweaking the handle in random places and ways.
Ok i thought need to work that one out.
I went to lock the car up and the double beep was back, this time (getting the son to work the key from a distance), its the front passengers not locking!!
I told the wife and she chased me - 3 locks in 2 weeks does sound excessive in all fairness.
I should add that not 1 fault code has been logged - i tried live data on the drives door - of which I had 86 different ones to pick from! and not one seems to be for the lock!!
Am i doing something stupid, or do you think I have 3 faults!!
