I suspect that no matter what size diameter wheel rim you have as standard you will always have the 'hump' due to the fact that the battery is located in the base of the well and you will need to maintain clearance on this (otherwise a large bang will occur!). So it's all about width of wheel not diameter...... A skinny spare clearly is about the limit that can be accommodated.

+ if you have any spare (even skinny) you lose the storage space for the rear parcel shelf .. not a great design.

I am under the impression that the skinny space saver fits under the reversable flat floor mat, but standard wheels have the hump in floor, is this not the case.

Correct. All you lose with the skinny is the ability to store the rear parcel shelf. You still get the reversible flat floor.
