Hi took delivery of my new Fpace 2021 model a few weeks ago. Its R dynamic 300 MHEV diesel. I previously had the same model in the old shape ie 300S diesel and it was a totally reliable car without any problem in 3 years. My new one has not got off to a good start however. Firstly I have the problem that other new owners have which is I can't link my profile on Pivi Pro to my Incontrol account - after some confusion Jaguar have confirmed it has to go back in to a dealer for a software upgrade (called 'vehicle shared secrets!) so thats happening this Wednesday.
The last week after a few weeks of no problems a message came up with something like 'electrical problem - stop when safe' and the red battery indicator li9ght came on. I carried on driving and after a few miles it went off again. next day on start up same issue - again went off after 10 miles or so. I was concerned that the car might not be charging so dropped into my local dealer (Inchape Jaguar Guildford). of course Covid panics meant they could not possible have the car in their workshop but I asked if someone could come out as do a diagnostic on the car - they advised me that the best course was to call Jaguar recovery - they would come out and do this and I was told 'put it o na trailer and bring it here - but you would get a courtesy car from the recovery people'. They then said they had several other cars with similar problems to do with battery charging in at the moment and no fix known!
I decided to keep the car as it was due in the following week for the software upgrade.
However since then although the electrical issue has not arisen again on three occasions now whilst the car is stopped at a junction on 'hold' and with the stop/start operating when I push the accelerator to start the car again it says 'engage gear' on the display - but it is already in gear. The car won't then move causing drivers behind to get agitated! The only was is to turn off the ignition and then restart - sometimes this takes a few goes - and twice the car then wen into limp home mode....
All not very confidence inspiring and I am hoping the dealer will be able to update me on what has been happening after its visit.
Apart from these problems I am very happy with the appearance and the lovely new interior....
