Just bought a used f pace as a retirement present. It's only my second Cat as usually prefer BMW .Lovely car to drive . It was an Approved used from dealer but have already had a couple of problems which I hope will be sorted this week. It has taken the edge off the car but time will tell if I made the right choice.

First problem was phone connection. Took about 20 tries to connect and then would not download any information. Took back to dealer for half a day and they re installed software. Connected ok but lost after I left the car and locked it. They said they would have another look this coming thursday. My son in law fixed in a few minutes.
Next problem is the aircon doesn't work. Blows air in but it's not cooled. Taking back to dealer Thursday.
I know they are not major issues but expected better of a supposedly approved car. Would have don just as well buying privately and taking my chances.
Thanks for asking.

You don't say how old the F-Pace is that you bought, but if those were the only issues I'd had with mine I would have been a happy bunny. However, I understand your frustration. I think cars have become so complex these days that the days of a competent mechanic being able to look and listen under the bonnet to diagnose a problem have long faded into history.
You don't say what the issue with the phone connection turned out to be, but given your son-in-law fixed it, it sounds like a configuration issue rather than a problem with the car, although the software upgrade that the dealer did may have enabled a solution.
I remember seeing other posts regarding the air conditioning - condensers and air recycling valves spring to mind, but again these may not apply to your car depending on age. Search the Forum to see what issues others have had. Hopefully the dealer will be able to sort it for you but a quick search before you go might give you a bit more insight into what the issue could be.

How long have you got.....? To be fair to the car the majority were relatively minor issues which could have been easily sorted but the dealer didn't seem to be bothered once they had my money. The neighbours used to tease us about not being able to make our minds up as we had pretty well every car in the Jaguar Land Rover line-up as courtesy cars parked on the drive at some stage. At one point I could have happily driven the car through the dealer's window and set fire to it. In the end we went to another dealer and they sorted everything under warranty in a couple of visits. Since then it has been fault free (fingers crossed) and we've been very pleased with it.

It’s pretty bad that when you bought a “Approved Used” and paid a premium for that, that the car obviously had not been checked over before collection and hand over was so poor. Some dealers just dont seem to care, customer service comes well down the list of priorities.

Glad it's fixed, but a cracked pipe and non-functional air con is a pretty fundamental thing that should have been picked up on the 'approved' test (or at least the fact the air-con wasn't working should have led them to find the cause before you got the car). I suppose the good news is versus buying privately is that you get a warranty through the approved used scheme.

Glad you like it. I’ve come out of a BMW M4 (the F82 generation), so the F-Pace will be something totally different and really looking forward to delivery day!
