Re: Snow chains/socks

I've also fitted Michelin Cross Climate all weather tyres. They are good all round tyres and very quiet. I have used my Fpace quite a bit for skiing up here in Scotland and never felt the need for winter tyres.

Re: Rear driveshafts corroded

I wouldn't worry about them - they are made of carbon steel which will rust as soon as any protective coating comes off. When carbon steel rusts it actually forms a protective barrier against further oxidisation so I would doubt they will ever corrode enough to substantially reduce the diameter. Als...

Re: uneven tyre wear

I got 33k out my first set of tyres and could have squeezed a bit more. This was a mix of Scottish country roads and motorways and the wear was completely even across all surfaces so I didn't even bother to get the tracking checked. I have smaller 18" Wheels as previously bad experience with larger ...

Re: Clunking Noise from Front Suspension

The early FPace models suffered from Track Rod End failure due to poor seals causing dirt to enter and lubricant to leak. I had a similar problem and had both Track Rod Ends replaced after 16,000mls which cured the problem and have now done 40,000mls with no more issues. (See earlier thread)

Re: White blocks on the wheels

Standard practice for all manufacturers to add balance patches on new wheels. Just be careful when using the power washer - you shouldn't be washing at such a high pressure near bodywork in any case.

Re: AWD And Auto Transmission Maintenance

I have clocked up over 200,000 miles on 8 speed auto ZF gearboxes with not a single issue and only Jaguar recommended servicing. I did 100,000mls on my first 3.0D XF and 95000 on my second. Have now done 40,000 on my Fpace without issue (DV!). However, I always take out extended warranty if keeping ...

Re: Jobs for the face lift

Re Stop/Start my Fpace has a switch on the centre consul next to Drive Mode which switches the Auto Stop/Start on and off as required. Has this been removed on newer models?
