Interesting, and good value if they are as good as you say. What happens if they get wet? Does the mat absorb the water like a carpet or does it sit on the surface?
These mats are not rubber/hard plastic and not water proof. They are more like carpet and soak up any spills. They hold the dirt and mud well.
Due a clean and wash this weekend so will post some pictures.
Can't see what's wrong with pressure washing the Jaguar rubber mats when needed and vacuuming the few remaining bits whilst they are drying? I know driver's mat is a bit too small but, hey ho....does it matter that much?
I'm sure the reason for short mats driver side is because manufacturers are terrified if mats getting stuck and sticking the accelerator on.
There was a jag recall back in 2011, whereby dealer fitted 2010 mats by mistake ( same model) and those were found to cause the above problem .
They tend to keep all mats away from pedals and hook them down for this very purpose.
If you did get an "unintended acceleration" , you can be sure your mats would be blamed whether they were at fault or not.
Bear this in mind when selecting mats.
Floor mat recalls ( certainly won't appear from third parties)
The best floor mats with the most area covered are Loyd mats from the US. For the winter I recommend the Weathertech ones. Weathertech is available in Europe. Both are pricey (just like the OEM ones) but much better quality.
Haven't got round to issuing my passengers with slippers yet! Good at collecting the muc! Easy to wash. Jags mats good for the summer but not upto winter, muddy boots. They look better in the flesh than the tacky promo photo!
My original floor mats are getting a bit tired-looking (January 2017). I was wondering about a new OEM set from Jaguar - I believe they are around £228 for a set. They are shown on the Jaguar website as "Luxury Carpet Mats", but I am not sure if they are any better quality than the originals that I have (which aren't particularly luxury). Does anyone have any advice regarding this, or alternatively and good recommendations for 3rd party mats that fit just as well as the OEMs?
I wanted a set of mats to put on top of and protect the OEMs but I don't like the rubber ones. Halfords do a set which are, apart from the backing, identical in fit, colour, appearance and quality to the originals and I've been very happy with them. They cost £44.99 but, unfortunately, I can't remember the brand name and it doesn't appear anywhere on the mats. However, I think they may be from their own brand 'Advanced' range. It would be best if you physically check them out for yourself and I'm sure you'll be able to locate them on display in Halfords but you'll probably find, as I did, that it will be a special order for the F-Pace. Mine took only about a week to arrive.
I'll have a look at the ones in Halfords that frogmill0 suggests. I'll also try to have a look at the Jaguar OEM "Luxury Premium Carpet Mat Set" that are featured on the Jaguar F Pace Accessories list, as they seem to be much better than the original Jaguar mats that came with my car. There is a set available below list price on Ebay from a JLR dealership.
What I am also considering, and curious if anyone has an opinion, is going for the Jaguar OEM rubber mats instead of carpet. I have the Jaguar rubber boot mat, and that is decent quality. The F Pace is, after all, an SUV and the rubber mats may be a more practical alternative to carpet mats.
I have had the Jag rubber floor mats and boot liner in mine since I got the car back in July '16. I would recommend them to anyone, they still look good as new when clean and if they get any scuffs they are easy to wash over with a sponge/cloth. They're very practical and hard wearing and look very smart too with the nice quality metal badge. I'd say I have endurance tested them pretty much to their limits over the last three years, being out in the wilds of North Yorkshire where anything else tends to show wear very quickly if it's not up to the job.
These look good if you want "rubber" mats. I have been doing some research into carpet mats and have been in touch with a manufacturer in Glasgow. They can produce a really good looking carpet mat (front and rear) that is longer than the standard Jaguar mat, so extends behind the driver side pedals in the foot well, and can be customised with "Jaguar" or F-Pace embroidery. The only draw back is they need a minimum of 100 sets ordered.
They estimate the price per set would be around £96.00 per set.
The post on page 1 says they are not waterproof so I don't think that will work for me as I need something fairly heavy duty - muddy boots etc in winter.
These are made by a different company and sold by a different seller as the ones on page one. They do look remarkably similar though. The mats I referred to are sold in America by Amazon under the name of Fidgetfidget but not in this country unfortunately.
